    Brakes overheating

    After being stuck behind a passenger bus, and having to brake all the time in a 16% decline. The brakes got realy hot. Also the Trabant broke down so we had to stop at a roadside restaurant. Currently fixing the trabant and cooling the brakes but we'll be on our way soon!Read more

    Camping Italy

    We (finaly) arrived at a camping in italy. It was a long and exhausting day for us. Took us realy long to descent the Timmelsjoch, we (and 4 other teams😂) had some issues with the brakes overheating. We stopped early because it was getting late and dark, so we have about one and a half hour to catch up tomorrow.

    Starting early today to catch up! At 3 pm we have a party with all the teams of the rally, and we still have about 8 hours to drive. So well be taking the 'easy' route today😂

    More braking problems

    We had to stop because the brakes of the Trabant failed. The master cylinder is leaking so its not looking good. Also the pads were reeeally worn. So bad you could actually see it has melted. We will try to fix it and we hope to be on the road again soon!Read more

    Mountains coming up

    Fixed the trabant! Had to close the master cylinder with glue to close the braking system so there would be pressure again😂. But it works, and better than ever. Next up are the mountains! Shouldn't be as challenging as the previous summit..... we hope😅

    I will be uploading more pictures tonight (if the battery on my laptop is still charged😅) Were running a little low on all batterys, camera, powerbank etc. So its hard to upload lots of pictures, but ill try my best to post some tonight!

    Also we are in charge of leading Team Slow trough the mountains, and we only took the wrong turn three times😂 But this is our first time navigating by maps so i think we're doing pretty great.    Read more

    Tunnel closed

    After we drove all the way up to Limone, we heard from a biker that the tunnel on our route was closed. We decided to go trough and see it for ourselves, there was a (tough) road around either way so we thought we could take that as a plan B. The tunnel was indeed closed so we had to take the other road.

    Road not suitable for our cars

    So when we drove all the way up to the top of the mountain pass, the road downwards wasn't actually paved. It didn't look like much of a problem if we just took it slow. But just as we were about to depart an very angry frenchman stopped us from going down. He told us that our cars weren't suitable for our cars, and that only 4x4's with a badge clould cross the road. (He was right but nobody realy gave a sh*t). But he said we would get a 140 euros fine if we would still pass the road, cause the police was waiting down te road to check every cars badge. We didn't realy believe him, but to avoid further complications we decided to head back down.Read more

    Trabant lost brakes downhill

    So on the way back down the Trabant lost brake pressure again. Because of this we actually had to 'drag' the Trabant down😂. We took the brakes apart again and we saw that the NEW brake pads we put on earlier were totaly burned and actually fell apart....

    So the Trabant was pretty much done, unfortunately we had to leave them behind. They called around and it would take 2 days for new parts to arrive. They stay in a hotel downwards of the place they broke down. We hope to see them again soon!    Read more

    Top of the Col de Turini

    Our first challenge of today was to climb the (1607 m.) mountain summit of the Col de Turini. Everything went great and it was realy cool to drive there! That summit is actually part of the legendary Monte Carlo Rally, the rally where the Mini's dominated in the 60's. I took realy good shots with the GoPro wich i hope to upload tonight!Read more

    Monaco

    After we challenged the Col de Turini, we went to Monaco. The city is realy cool to drive trough and especially the Formula 1 circuit. We tried to film a whole lap but it was realy busy and there was a lot of road maintenance, so the film is not realy complete but i wil upload the famous parts like the hairpin, casino and the tunnel. Also took some pictures, wich i hope to upload tonight.Read more

    Camping for tonight

    Arrived at the camping for tonight, wasn't a very special day today. Currently uploading some pictures from the previous days!

    Going to bed early today, long day ahead tomorrow. Need to drive over 400 kilometers, wich takes us about 12 hours.Read more
