    The Story of 'SKJONGHELLEREN':

Standing in this cave, you're truly immersed in the story...it's so gigantic that the typical cave feeling (tightness, darkness, fear) is absent...the photos only convey how I felt inside...experiencing it yourself is something completely different...👌👍

Skjonghelleren is a cave on the southwest side of Valderøy, 4 kilometers northwest of Ålesund. It can be reached via a short hiking trail of only about 15 minutes. The cave lies 57 meters above sea level and was formed by erosion by the sea at a previously higher water level. It is almost 38 meters high at the entrance, and 70 meters from the opening is a rather shallow inner cave that extends about 30 meters.

Skjonghelleren has been inhabited since the early Iron Age. Geological surveys in recent years have uncovered bone remains of birds and other animals dating back about 30,000 years—from the last Ice Age.

    👣📍💯🚶‍♀️👍.....highly recommended😃
