Älvros old and new church

Älvros gamla kyrka
In 1909 it was decided that the church should become a museum church or a storehouse for collections of Härjedalen craft. The people of Älvros protested and the decision was revoked. Instead, restoration of the church began in 1929, and in 1932 it was re- inaugurated . The bell tower was also restored.

The New Church of Älvros ( the Red one) is a 19th-century wooden church built in the National Romantic style. In 1877, the construction of a new church was decided upon, and it was completed in 1883.Læs mere
