Heading Out to Do the Work....

Today we head out to the boarding school. Meet the man who is going to plow the fields for the planting of the sorghum and peanuts and deliver the shoes to some of the children.

We had some setbacks as Elhadj's brother had been in a near fatal accident, lost his transportation and been in recovery for several months. Yesterday they were able to rent a vehicle so will be able to get around today.

Also with the celebration of Koritae, which is a national holiday here in Sinegal, there were no workers at the school. The US equivalent would be Thanksgiving/Easter from the standpoint of how it is viewed and celebrated.Read more

The shoe that grows...

Thanks to the generosity of those in our church, friends, and families; we were able to bring three duffel bags of the shoe that grows for the street children. The sandal expands out to five sizes and is designed to last up to five years.

Personal Testimony- I am WEST AFRICAN!

I completed my 23&Me DNA kit a few weeks back. While sitting here in West Africa (Senegal) I got an email notification that my result were completed. It shows My family heritage is 70% from WEST AFRICA! In essence I have returned to provides shoes and food for my own family!!! God is so good!! I am so glad the rain has stopped, the holiday (Koritae) is over and we can get out and do the work!Read more

The Bugs Here are NO JOKE!!!!

After the rain yesterday, the bugs seemed to have multiplied by the thousands! Even in the restaurant, that table was crawling.... literally at some points. I ran across this snail on the way back to my room in this fancy hotel. There were dozens of them every where. Today should be an experience as we head out to the villages and more rural areas...Read more
