  • Clifton Hill

    25. august 2019, Canada ⋅ 🌙 64 °F

This is the party street. Shiny, bright and perfect for ADD folks. Lots to see and do.

And check out this glitter sign! It was my favorite. It definitely was right up my ADOS (attention deficit, oooh shiny) alley.Læs mere

  • Clifton Hill Take 2

    25. august 2019, Canada ⋅ 🌙 64 °F

I personally think I should get an award for the ferris wheel photos. These are my favorite so far. We didn't ride it but it was lit up and looked so cool.

We passed this statue and I wanted to take a picture of the boys, as you can tell, it wasn't a statue! Completely startled me.

The boys loved Clifton Hill, but I think that the Guinness World Records, might have been their favorite stop. Shout out to Blake, that granite ball was fun! We wondered how heavy that thing was.

  • Coming Down the Hill

    25. august 2019, Canada ⋅ 🌙 63 °F

We finished up Clifton Hill @ The Guinness World Records. Talon got to be the tallest guy, Weston the fattest guy.

On our way back down to the falls, we passed through this really pretty garden that we walked/bused by all day long and never noticed. I wanted pictures of the falls at night with the lights.

We finally called Dad to come get us so we didn't have to walk the 1.25 miles back to the hotel. It was 11:30pm and we were tired.

  • Lake Ontario

    26. august 2019, Canada ⋅ ⛅ 70 °F

We have left Niagara! We wanted a picture from Lake Ontario. We found a dead end to take pictures at, but really missed the beaches we were able to go to at the other lakes.

  • Lake Ontario 2.0

    26. august 2019, Canada ⋅ ☀️ 72 °F

We really missed the beach, so Talon made the decision to stop at Woodbine Park. We stopped for a picture but stayed for 2 hours. More chapters on this fun stop to come...

  • Sea Glass @ Toronto

    26. august 2019, Canada ⋅ ☀️ 72 °F

Sister DeAnna Lewis mentioned to me that she was looking forward to looking for sea glass on the beach when she goes to Maine. I told Doug I wanted to try that. While I was taking pictures of everyone playing on the beach, I couldn't figure out what Doug was doing all by himself until he brought me a handful of sea glass. Next thing I know, everyone's in on the hunt. It is a fun pastime. Thanks Sister Dee!Læs mere

  • Woodbine Beach

    26. august 2019, Canada ⋅ ☀️ 72 °F

This beach was awesome, it was voted as one of the best things we've done so far. Thanks Talon!

We wanted to play volleyball on the beach, but alas we didn't think to pack one...the beach birds were just chilling on the beach together until a girl chasing her kite disturbed them. That was a site to see them all take off.Læs mere

  • Golf @ The Beach

    26. august 2019, Canada ⋅ ☀️ 72 °F

This park had a frisbee golf course. Of course, the guys HAD to play. They played 9 holes. We got lunch at Tim Hortons and off we went. Check out the leaves on that tree!

  • Canadian Oddities

    26. august 2019, Canada ⋅ ☀️ 68 °F

*Not really odd, but definitely a cool sign
A pay phone at the rare Walmart (really, in Canada, they are rare). Talon asked how to use it...he says he was joking
*Washroom-in Canada, they don't have Restrooms, they also don't always have fountain drinks or coffee in their stations
    *Hav A Nap Motel-sign self-explanatory
*Cathedral-every small town in Canada had one of these. I enjoyed looking for the steeple in each town, as we drove through the countryside.

  • Traffic Jam in Quebec, Canada!

    26. august 2019, Canada ⋅ 🌙 68 °F

Quebec, Canada! We caused Google to show a traffic jam! With all our phones stopped in one area, the map showed it red.

I'll just note that Tresia LOVES her grandbabies. She is protestingly participating in these photos! But I'll note also, she is in them!!! 💓 you Nana!Læs mere

  • Traveling With The Clowns!

    26. august 2019, Canada ⋅ ☀️ 72 °F

On the road and in the clown wagon:
    *Playing Euchre
*Helping a lady broke down in traffic, get her hooptie off the road (I have an awesome family)
    *20 questions...a pinecone...
    *War
    *31
*Rachel won 31! She didn't even realize it, she had to be told.Læs mere

  • Notre-Dame Basilica

    27. august 2019, Canada ⋅ ⛅ 68 °F

This is Rachel's Day! She wanted to go by this old Basilica. It was Canada's first Gothic Revival church, started in 1824. The exterior was based on Notre-Dame de Paris and Saint-Sulpice. The interior, Sainte-Chapelle. Okay enough history, it was cool. Check out the detail in the stained glass. No wonder it took 20 years to complete the interior.Læs mere

  • Old Montreal Take 2

    27. august 2019, Canada ⋅ ⛅ 72 °F

There was so much architecture to be wowed by. One of the cool things Doug pointed out was when they your down an old building, you can still see the outline of the torn down building. It really didn't feel like anything I've ever seen in the US...oh wait, it wasn't in the US.Læs mere

  • Les Touristes

    27. august 2019, Canada ⋅ ⛅ 72 °F

We were walking back to the van and passed by this park. Doug decided to have some fun. There was a guy there trying to take pictures and we kept getting in his way. When I tried to apologize he was laughing so hard and kept saying that was okay. At least we put a smile on one person's face!Læs mere

  • Chez Ashton & Beaver Tails

    27. august 2019, Canada ⋅ ⛅ 79 °F

Chez Ashton was a Canadian fast food restaurant. Doug & Talon got a burger, but Weston & I ate a traditional Canadian meal, Poulton with Smoked Sausage. Poulton is essentially fries smothered in brown gravy, with white cheddar chunks and topped with the sausage.

Now, we were on the hunt for Canadian Beaver Tails, I found them about 15 minutes out of the way, tribal council decided it was worth it. We did not realize the tourist trap we were driving to. Said tourist trap turned into an awesome place.

  • Quebec City

    27. august 2019, Canada ⋅ ⛅ 79 °F

Quebec City was a site that we didn't see coming. It almost seemed like we were in another country. There was a ton of traffic and these tight one way cobble streets.

While we were getting our Beaver Tails, Doug was exploring in a 'bus'. After we got in the van, he took us to this one way street going up. Now everything would have been fine, except for Tresia completely freaking out (she threatened Doug's life over this stunt, I thought she might really do it too), but they were working on the road perpendicular, at the top. When we got up there, there were 2 choices: back all the way down the hill or drive into the road construction to turn around. EVERYONE was starting at us while we tried to turn around. That big can in a tiny intersection took 4 turns. You can guess how Tresia reacted...if only they would have just blocked off the bottom.Læs mere

  • Canada/USA

    27. august 2019, Forenede Stater ⋅ ☀️ 73 °F

We were on our way to cross into the US at Fort Kent and we passed by the northern most point of the US easy of the Mississippi. They had this pull off that had a bridge and you could stand in both countries at once. So of course, photos!

It's really hard to tell, but the first pic is with the US to our backs, the 2nd pic is with Canada to our backs. A nice little stop...

    27. august 2019, Forenede Stater ⋅ 🌙 63 °F

Hwy 1 runs 2,440 miles from Fort Kent, ME all the way to Key West, FL. We had just cleared customs and gotten gas. We were exhausted but glad to be back in the US.

  • France

    27. august 2019, Canada ⋅ ☀️ 72 °F

We are in France! It really feels like it. Quebec is a French area, and there is more French signs than English. Most everyone could at least speak enough English to make communicating doable. Google and their free translation service saw a lot of use by us though.Læs mere

  • Island Falls, ME

    28. august 2019, Forenede Stater ⋅ ☀️ 50 °F

We stayed in an Airbnb in Island Falls. It was so late when we got in, but it was a nice stop. The next morning we all chilled while getting around. Rachel and I took out coffee outside to catch the morning fog. We decided to explore the river across the road from us while we visited, planned and just enjoyed the time together. A+ morning!

While breakfast was going on, we had tribal council. Nobody got voted off, but decisions were made. 100% rain in the forecast for the next day and nobody was looking forward to hiking @ Acadia NP in the rain. We had to switch some things around, and knock out some site-seeing, but we all agreed. Acadia today!

  • Homan's Hike in Acadia

    28. august 2019, Forenede Stater ⋅ ⛅ 66 °F

Our 1st hike in Acadia NP! Mom and Nana stayed and went through the museum and nature center. It was an awesome hike, but sooo many stairs. Still it was fun and the boys (big and little) really liked that they could make their own trail over the rocks. It was also almost completely in the shade.Læs mere
