  • Blake & Kristal's

    22. elokuuta 2019, Yhdysvallat ⋅ ⛅ 73 °F

We got to their house about 7:30pm. She made us some awesome chicken fried steak, mmmm. The guys shot guns and then went to Gerald and Lora's and played pool until 11:30pm, where Weston wiped the floor with everyone else. I won the $5 bet with Kristal, thanx Douger. Visiting, good food and of course, Bonnie, a great stop!Lue lisää

  • Missouri!

    22. elokuuta 2019, Yhdysvallat ⋅ ⛅ 75 °F

Missouri State Line. Talon wanted to climb the backside of the sign but he said he wasn't strong enough. A mile down the road, we needed a gas and bathroom stop. It was such a cool truck stop. The green truck was on a spinning floor. Weston was fascinated.Lue lisää

  • On the Road

    24. elokuuta 2019, Yhdysvallat ⋅ ☀️ 64 °F

After having to turn around because Nathanael doesn't have an awesome wife to take care of him and he forgot his passport, we made it to Johnny & Jackie Schoolcraft's to pick up Eric & Rachel. They left their car there so they'll have it when they fly home. We finally got on the road.Lue lisää

  • CANADA

    24. elokuuta 2019, Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 68 °F

We missed the Michigan State Line sign. Construction made it disappear. It was a pretty sign too.

The Bridge to Canada was so cool, and Tresia completely freaked over the height of it and the boat crossing under us.

Canada, oh Canada! 1st time out of the US of A for Nathanael, Rachel, Talon and Weston.

  • Horseshoe Falls

    25. elokuuta 2019, Yhdysvallat ⋅ ⛅ 64 °F

What most call Niagara Falls although, (warning-nerd info coming up...) technically all of the falls make up Niagara Falls.

It's so awesome what God created. Horseshoe Falls used to recedes 1 foot every 10 years. So that means since we came 12 years ago, that falls are a little over one foot back from where they were.Lue lisää

  • Niagara Falls, Canada

    25. elokuuta 2019, Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 64 °F

We made it! So, FYI...Canada is expensive! Gas and hotels and food and...pretty much everything costs more. We were a half block from IHOP and thought we'd go there for breakfast. My $8 meal I usually buy was $17 dollars, and one pancake was $12, uh nope we are cheap, so we went back to the van and ate lunch meat and cheese.

BTW, whoever had the idea to make BRIGHT matching t-shirts was soo smart. It made it easy to find everyone. Don't we all look awesome?!

  • Journey Behind The Falls

    25. elokuuta 2019, Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 68 °F

Doug had to hoof it about 1.25 miles from the hotel because I had to pick up our WEGO passes this morning. Parking close to falls-$20. Hotel parking-free. The bus pass is the way to go.

The first thing that we did was Journey Behind the Falls. I was disappointed with it until the last portal, then we got soaked! Everyone ran off and left us because me, Doug and Dad, stopped to read all the info in the tunnels. That's alright, we caught up to them!Lue lisää

  • Bromance???

    25. elokuuta 2019, Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 70 °F

So we did quite a bit of sitting, waiting on people to catch up or go to the bathroom. Doug and Eric started trying to stare at each other and make the other laugh first. Neither one was very good at it and a lot of giggling, yes giggling, ensured. Rachel called it a "bromance". It ended in a stare-down hug. 💓Lue lisää

  • Hornblower

    25. elokuuta 2019, Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 70 °F

We did the Hornblower next. This is the boat that takes you to the base of the falls. It is so bright and wet that you can barely keep your eyes open. I think most of my pictures, I just stick my phone up, pushed the button and hoped it turned out because I couldn't see it! The boys had the biggest smiles, they thought it was great.Lue lisää

  • Random Niagara

    25. elokuuta 2019, Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 72 °F

At different places we were given ponchos.
    Journey Behind the Falls-yellow.
    Hornblower-red.
    Niagara Fury (a cool 3D falls movie)-blue.
Nana wanted to keep them...this is the "birthday party", as Weston put it, that was going on when Doug and I got back to our room.Lue lisää

  • White Water Walk

    25. elokuuta 2019, Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 72 °F

We spent a few hours doing our own things and met up at 5pm to walk the White Water Walk that followed the river below the falls. WOW! The rapids on this beast are crazy. They are considered a category 6, which basically says you'll die if you jump in.

I really love our bright shirts! We've had so many responses to them. Are we a camp, a church group, together, etc? The best was our bus driver asking if he could drop us off at a different stop so we could be lost...he was a fun(ny) driver.

  • Skylon Tower

    25. elokuuta 2019, Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 72 °F

Skylon Tower, 775 feet above the falls. Man that thing was tall and the wind was cold. Doug and I took the boys up the tower and then caught up with everyone else at Popeyes. They ate and then did the tower.

The falls used to recede 3 feet per year. They divert enough water from the falls that it now recedes only 1 foot per 10 years. The power of the water is so great now, I can't imagine it if it was at full capacity. God's creation is so awesome!

  • Skylon Tower @ Night

    25. elokuuta 2019, Kanada ⋅ 🌙 66 °F

While Dad & Mom, Eric & Rachel and Nathanael went to the tower, us and Tresia decided to go back to the hotel to change and get jackets for the fireworks. We caught the wrong bus and went 45 minutes out of the way. I completely stressed about getting up in the tower for the fireworks. We made it, finally!

Everyone else waited at the top of the tower for 2 hours, waiting on the fireworks, so that we could get a good spot. It was cold but they held strong and we had the best spot. The guys walked (raced) laps around the tower to keep warm.

  • Fireworks!

    25. elokuuta 2019, Kanada ⋅ 🌙 64 °F

Okay, so after the stress, the wait, and the cold, we were ready for this awesome show. Wrong! It's disappointing to say...but it was a complete dud. The fireworks were small, lasted 3 minutes and they didn't shoot them up very high.

I felt really bad for them waiting but you live, you learn, right? Can I get a whoop, whoop for perseverance!

When we came out of the tower headed to the hill, there was this row of flags that looked really neat.

Next stop, taking the boys to Clifton Hill for the party!
