The next stage of our tour is to traverse the magnificent Aurlandsfjord from Flåm to Gudvangen by ferry, then a quick bus trip to the lovely town of Voss via the magnificent Stalheim lookout.
Vossevangen

Jumped on the train for our next stop Vossevangen, or simply Voss. A lovely little town on the shores of Vangsvatnet.
Bergen

The day has finally arrived, our cruise to the north of Norway on the MS Nordkapp of the Hurtigruten line.

The Top of Norway

Our cruise north ends at Kirkenes. Now we head back south.
The Midnight Sun

And there it is... After days of clouds and rain, we sacrificed a few beers to Njord, Norse God of the Seas, and were rewarded with clear skies to view the midnight sun.

After the cruise, we jumped on a couple of flights to the next stage of our journey... Bavaria and Austria.
Hired a car in Munich to drive to our first stop, the beautiful Neuschwanstein Castle.
Bavaria

Bavaria is in the southeast of Germany and a lovely part of the world. But you have to get off the roads to see a lot of it, so we put on our hiking shoes and headed off into der Wald.

Austria

We're back in Austria, but this time to explore the mountain regions. Our first stop was Seefeld, home of the 1985 Winter Olympics.
The flowers here are especially unique and beautiful.
Wattens

Stayed in the small town of Wattens, which happens to be where Swarovski Crystal comes from. Had to visit the museum.
Innsbruck

Eagle's Nest

Took a day trip up to Obersalzberg to visit Eagle's Nest, the infamous 2nd command centre for the Nazis during the later part of the war. A lovely spot despite its history. It's a restaurant today.
Berchtesgaden
