We returned our rental car and then jumped on a train back to Austria to see the unbelievably beautiful city of Salzburg.

From Bad Ischl we took a leisurely drive back to Munich to return our rental car. Here's a few highlights we encountered along the way.

We stayed in the town of Bad Ischl, which is in the middle of the Lakes District. So here are a few random photos from a few days of exploring the area.

Took a day trip down to Hallstatt, what a beautiful town. Full of tourists but...
Berchtesgaden

Stayed in Berchtesgaden a couple of nights while visiting the Eagle's Nest, a lovely little town.
Eagle's Nest

Took a day trip up to Obersalzberg to visit Eagle's Nest, the infamous 2nd command centre for the Nazis during the later part of the war. A lovely spot despite its history. It's a restaurant today.
Alpbach and Achensee

Driving back to Germany, stopping at a couple of lovely spots for a few photos.
Innsbruck

Jumped on the bus to spend the day wandering around Innsbruck. Weather could have been better, but still an interesting place.
Wattens

Stayed in the small town of Wattens, which happens to be where Swarovski Crystal comes from. Had to visit the museum.
Austria

We're back in Austria, but this time to explore the mountain regions. Our first stop was Seefeld, home of the 1985 Winter Olympics.
The flowers here are especially unique and beautiful.
