  • Dresden

    August 1 in Germany ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

After a few days relaxing with friends, we made our way to Dresden, a beautiful city that was almost totally destroyed in WW2 and only rebuilt in the last 20 years.

Our visit coincided with Die Finals 2025, a large sporting competition that is broadcast all across Germany. So it was a bit busy, but interesting.Read more

    August 4 in Germany ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C

Cologne, our Köln, is a large city in the northwest of Germany. It has a unique art culture and is very interesting. The cathedral is amazing

  • Cobh

    September 6 in Ireland ⋅ 🌬 16 °C

Stopped for a couple of hours in the lovely town of Cobh, famous for being the last stop of the Titanic to pick up passengers before it's doomed voyage.

Interesting point... Families used to conduct American Wakes to celebrate/commiserate the departure of loved ones emigrating to the US in the early 1900's.Read more

  • Gap of Dunloe

    September 7 in Ireland ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

The Gap of Dunloe is a... challenging... drive in the mountains west of Killarney. The landscape is unbelievably beautiful, but the road is a real test of your driving prowess.

Think of a really steep, single lane road with lots of right angle turns, and oncoming traffic (cars and horses) with very few turnouts. I hired the smallest car they had for this very trip. That turned out to be a good plan.Read more
