Trying to leave where we had parked, we stumbled on this great place to get closer to the water... the smell was horrible, but seeing the cycle of spawning and giving back to nature was moving.

The wait was long but we finally found a pod of 4 that gave us a show. Our crew were so nice and called their boss to stay out 20 minutes longer to see them.

The glacier was impressive but what was shocking was how big it used to be.... and realizing how much it has receded. Glad we got to see this before it is all gone.

Made it to the top and time to turnaround. Really pretty, clear lake….conveniently called Summit Lake. It is very dry and feels like a desert even though I know it isn’t.
