A city with so much water and so many water ways is fascinating to desert rats. Watching a boat come in and the doors open and close is fascinating. Unfortunately, we had to run to cross the top because Dawn had to get to a meeting.

Increases the desire to go through the Panama Canal!Read more

This part of the work trip was fun. Former Seattle Seahawk player, Cliff Avrill, came to an event at the Boys and Girls Club to kick off a Project Power Youth program. Type 2 diabetes prevention is important to him and he wanted to inspire these kids to get ahead of it!

After the event in Everett, we headed to a brewery near the waterfront/harbor. We are used to flights of beer having 2 oz pours.... this one had 6 oz pours! Oh boy!

After lunch we walked out around the port. The beautiful blue sky and all that water was stunning. Saw a guy bring in a large fish, and lots of guys just hanging on their boats in the harbor. The giant saw blade pays tribute to the lumber work that used to go on in the area.Read more

We drove along an interesting twisty road through the pines to get to the Mukilteo Lighthouse. Cute little town and park and you can watch the ferries cross to the nearby islands. It was a perfect day for these views and so peaceful. We could have sat and just watched the boats go by for hours.Read more

On our way to the winery, we passed a Boeing plant with the workers out on strike. We knew about the plant down near the airport in Tacoma, but there were tons of Boeings in some stage of building, and a small group outside with their signs.Read more

Two nights, two concerts at the winery! This time Crowded House! And we had awesome poke nachos and gyoza. The hot air balloon going over was icing on a beautiful night.
