We ventured outside the Medina Blue Gate to view the outer ramparts of the city. Back through another entrance and straight into the busy streets of the lower Medina.

Up early to catch Fès in the dawn. Quite spectacular.
The Tannery

Our last day here in Fès. Memories of the Medina.
Salè
1 september 2024, Marocko ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C
Salè. Just over the river to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. We are staying in a Riad within the Medina. Very much different to Fès. Hardly any sit down eateries. A few coffee shops and local market areLäs mer
The Medina

Rabat by Night
5 september 2024, Marocko ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C
Went with Lynne on her tour this evening to Rabat. Special time of day as the sun sets and the lights come on. PS. Like the way they disguise mobile phone towers as palm trees.

Road to Marrakech
6 september 2024, Marocko ⋅ ☀️ 38 °C
It’s not a Bing Crosby Bob Hope film, but it should be. Out of our Riad, grabbed a taxi straight away, and to Salè train station with 90 minutes to spare. 😳. One thing I have noticed is theLäs mer
Sandstorm

Our first sandstorm. Lasted the whole afternoon, so we just lounged around our hotel.
In and around
8 september 2024, Marocko ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C
Marrakech and its surrounds are quite flat. I hope we get a chance to see the Atlas Mountains. At the moment the sky is hazy and the view is obscured.
Bahia Palace
9 september 2024, Marocko ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C
Visited the Bahia Palace today. Got in just before the tour groups. 🙂. Amazing artistry on woodwork, tiling and masonry.
The palace is gorgeous. Every surface covered with ornate decoration.

Tangier
13 september 2024, Marocko ⋅ 🌬 27 °C
We left Marrakech by plane. Didn’t really want to spend 6.5 hours on a semi air conditioned train. And the cost wasn’t that different. Left at 8.45pm and arrived 50 minutes later. Bit of an ordealLäs mer
Oh the view
14 september 2024, Marocko ⋅ 🌬 27 °C
Glorious views across to Europe makes Tangiers a must visit destination. In hindsight we should have spent more time here than in Marrakesh.
The Kasbah
15 september 2024, Marocko ⋅ 🌬 26 °C
Up the winding lanes to the Kasbah. Every turn an amazing experience. Outside of Fez, this Kasbah is fantastic. The drop in temperature does help as the Atlantic sea breezes sweep the city.
Tangier Medina
16 september 2024, Marocko ⋅ 🌬 26 °C
Just keep finding little alleyways with shops, cafes and restaurants. Want to go in to everyone! Need to win lotto first. 😳
