    Day 11

    June 4, 2018 in Brazil ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Another time we got up very early and we planned to hike up the rest to the top of Pedra do Sino. We wanted to see the sunrise. But it turned out that the weather is so bad that we wouldn't see anything and it started to rain in the night. Therefore we drank a coffee and started our way down. 3 hours later we have arrived at the beginning of the trail. We were lucky because two men showed up which took us the 3 km to the entry of the park on the back of their pickup. The rest to the city Teresopolis we walked by foot. We took the bus back to Rio. Then it was time to say goodbye to each other because Maira had to go to work. Hopefully our next encounter will not take another 7 years. I checked out in the hostel and went to a Portuguese restaurant in Ipanema. I had to eat Francesinha which is a superb Portugesian dish. Additionally I had Rabanada as dessert. Both were really rich and filling - I was happy :-) Afterwards I made my way to the airport using the airport bus.
I arrived just on time for the boarding of my flight. Bye bye Rio, see you hopefully soon again!

    Day 12

    June 5, 2018 in Brazil ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

The first flight was quite bumpy at the beginning and somehow some people didn't like that. 8 of them were collapsing and vomitting. One woman fell onto the ground directly next to me! The crew covered the vomit with a powder and then with a blanket. I have never witnessed such a situation in a plane until now, really weird. I was glad to arrive Amsterdam without own issues. After some waiting time I was boarding the plane to Basel. The second flight was short and without problems. One reason to fly via Basel was to meet a friend who lives there, but in the end it turned out that he didn't have time to meet because he got the day wrong. He thought I will arrive on Wednesday -> the whole hassle with the trains and buses were for nothing. Additionally I missed the good connection to Ravensburg (thanks to the Swiss Customs at this point) and so I had to take the last option with lots of train changes. The most fragile part of getting home started, I had to rely on Deutsche Bahn which is not famous for its punctuality. Fortunately I got all trains, some by running, and arrived in Ravensburg safely. This was an amazing trip, thanks to all the wonderful people I met! See you next time, over and out :-)Read more
