Horrible rocks today, had to push many times on the trails, and probably hottest day for the entire tour, t-shirt and pants crusted with salt

First time finding Warmshowers hosts (app for cyclists to stay at other cyclists homes for a night).
The bar is set very high for my next hosts.
Anne and François are amazing, offered dinner and breakfast, super kind and many stories. Their daughter Cécile did a trip around the world with her husband a month after their marriage! Crazy commitment.
They made a book and received awards (see picture).
François is a crazy ironman athlete, and with Anne they did lots of bike trips everywhere in Europe and some around the world.
Where : Courry "La Picholine Chambres et tables d'hôtes"
Huge portion of noodles with chicken and some chocolate. And a promise of fresh eggs from their chickens the next morning :)

Broken derailer and back wheel hub first thing in the morning :(
Luckily close to a great bike shop

Got fixed by Antoine plus some other small things could start riding at 15h
So new back wheel and derailer both slightly worse quality than what I had initially but new where mine already had many thousand kilometers behind them. Antoine was super nice explained everything and we were both astonished that my wheel had held so long without much noise and squeaking. The hub fell to pieces once he released the wheel.

Rain finally over, got everything dried in the hotel last night.

The route now gets more remote and further from big cities as I hoped, but also colder the closer to the Alps I get.Read more

Late start cause the camping spot was so great.

Still quite a bit of snow, so a lot of pushing.
Diverted form the trail to better paths/roads.

Arrived in Les Rousses and was planning to camp on the trail but in Switzerland, but impossible. The trail is in a sort of small valley so even more snow there.
Will rejoin EDT tomorrow in Rochejean.Read more

Morning again on the "ski de fond" pistes so quite a bit of snow but so early in the day it was hard enough to ride on.
Then got down to Rochejean and onto a voie verte, going mostly downhill.
Ending the day with really good and fun forest trails.
So all in all one of the most diverse and fun days so far ( especially since it was a lot of downhill today)
And a nice restaurant meal before camping in the forest.Read more

Nancy, Metz, Luxemburg and finally Germany
Pretty much along the Moselle the entire day.
For now still feeling okay, but probably not tomorrow.
Almost entirely cycleway and flat.
To get to Bonn on time
