    Now at our hotel in Piraeus (Port of Athens). Had a lovely yiros followed by icecream at 9pm. Traffic and people everywhere, like the place doesn't stop.

    Arrived in Thessaloniki harbour at 10am. Had an all day tour where we saw the tomb of King Phillip II, followed by lunch, then off to Pella to see the birth place of his son Alexander the Great.

    Our only stop in Turkey. What a wonderful place. Went on a tour of the ancient city of Ephesus. Then we watched how they made home knotted Turkish carpets and bought one

    Took a tour of Minoan Palace of Knossis, the 1st European civilisation 4000 years ago. Then a quick tour of the city centre before walking back to the ship. To celebrate our birthdays, I hired out the entire restaurant for a romantic meal that was unbelievable. That was followed by a Cirque du Coleil acrobatic show that was amazing.Read more

    Saw the lights of Santorini as we sailed into harbour. Took a tender to the island then a tour of the city of Oia, followed by the beach, a wine tasting, an 11th century church, top of the highest mountain (in the cloud), and finally the city of Fira where we did a bit if shopping before catching the cable car down to the beach and the tender back to the boatRead more

    We boarded life boats this morning to get to Milos. Today's excursion took us to Sarakiniko (Moon beach), then to the site where the Venus de Milos was found and the Christian Catacombs. We got rained on in the Capital Plaka. Then back to the coastal town of Adamantas where we caught the boat back to the ship.Read more

    Back at the port of Pireaus. End of the cruise. Unfortunately, today's tour has been cancelled due to lack of numbers, so we will have to catch a taxi into Athens and work out what to do from there.

    Have arrived at the Stanley Hotel too early to check in, so time for some sight seeing. Bought a 2 day hop on hop off bus ticket and a pass to the major attractions. Saw some wonderful sights. The Parthenon was absolutely packed. Checked into the Stanley at 3pm. What a magnificent 5 star hotel with complimentary wine, beer and breakfast and views of the Acropolis from our room and the dining table.
