Pancake Tuesday (Mardi Gras)

Some irish pancakes (drop scones) fresh off the pan. Tomorrow is the start of Lent, so today is a day of indulgence 😊

Here we call today, Pancake Tuesday or sometimes Shrove Tuesday, and of course elsewhere it is more famously known as Mardi Gras..

Monaghan County Hospital

Today, we stayed local, and dad only had to go to Monaghan hospital. He is wearing a heart monitor until Monday, and he got it fitted today.

I actually spent a week or more in this hospital in 1983. We were on the same floor today.Leggi altro

My first set of wheels

I was driving this Massy Ferguson 35 well over 40 years ago. We all learned to drive in our tractor. We started by steering it slowly through a field of bales while they were loaded into the trailer, then graduating to doing a bit more and a bit more.

This tractor is older than I am. It was far from new when we got it first. I remember us having to get the anti-roll bar fitted (some nanny law or other) , which I always felt spoiled the look of this classic.Leggi altro
