Greece Lefkada to Italy Lipari Lido

Farewell Greece, hello Italy. 75 long hours with disgusting winds and a headwind we arrived shortly before midnight to drop anchor on one of the volcanic islands off Sicily. At least the Messina Strait was calm because of the moon and currents were only 2knots.

A good - dead sleep and a decision to continue the journey to Sardegna and another 3 days at sea.

The Italians of course in a huge bay decided to drop anchor as we were leaving on our anchor and then disgruntled the picked up but would not move out of the way to retrieve ours. I must confess I went as close as I could to scare them but they didn’t care. Italians!Read more
