  • Alonaki Finario

    28. april 2024, Grækenland ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

Two Rock Bay to Alonaki Finario. It's good to be moving not because we have to but because we want to. A good change after three nights in a wonderful location. A wonderful bay, only 30 minutes from anchor up to anchor down and the best part is - only space for one boat. It's good to practice lines ashore or hausers as they call them in Europe, in preparation for Croatia. Definitely needed in this location. Perfect for exploring by sup and grateful the beach bar isn't open.

  • Preveza Town Quay

    30. april 2024, Grækenland ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Alonaki Finario to Preveza Town Quay. Ok moving on and time to get water and supplies and discover a new town we have been avoiding because of the weight up of natural bays versus access to restaurants and bays always win. But what a magical place. The port authorities in Greece are always so friendly and the 16.70 euros a steal for the location.

    2. maj 2024, Grækenland ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

Agio Nikitas to Porto Katsiki . This is why we do it. This us why we brave the elements and sail to unknown places. To find gems like this. Not unfortunately a place to stay indefinitely, leave the boat or spend the night sleeping peacefully but what a very special place to visit.

  • Ithaka Gidaki

    5. maj 2024, Grækenland ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Mikros Gialos to Ithaka Gidaki. Definitely a fair weather anchorage on the island of Ithaka. The Ionians are tricky as the ground is exceptionally deep and then suddenly rises right next to the coastline. So it means either a lot of anchor or anchor uncomfortablly close to the shore. Which is what we did to in order to make a video for Heidi who is battling with stage 4 cancer at the moment with her #fuckcancer support group. Not planning to stay overnight turned into exactly that as the weather was perfect and only a small amount of swell. A nice 8k and 300m elevation hike for shopping up and over to Vathi Town and a cup of coffee to find out was a public holiday but it was a special hike.

  • Sarakiniko Bay

    6. maj 2024, Grækenland ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

Gidaki to Sarakiniko Bay. Sometimes especially when the weather is good I say - this is why we do it. And this bay is one of them. Not an easy spot - taking into account it's really deep until you are literally on the beach but a well chosen corner with lines ashore and you have a spot that is all yours and no one else comes near you. The perfect place to comfortably leave GypsyDjango for a good explanatory ride.

  • Kefalonia Sami

    8. maj 2024, Grækenland ⋅ ☁️ 22 °C

Sarakiniko Bay to Kefalonia Sami . Sadly it's time for civilization again. Sami fir food and water. The town quay with free water and no charge forbabchorafe. Greece is totally preferable to Croatia and their take advantage mentality. I love this country. Sami us a very basic authentic town. A wonderful run to lake in a cave and an expensive tour and the abandoned village. Of course we ended up trespassing and climbed over at least 7 fences 🤣

Supper out and pork gyros tonight!!!

  • Fiskardo

    9. maj 2024, Grækenland ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

Sami to Fiskardo. Sometimes we just don't learn. Fiskardo Is ALWAYS windier than the forecast and always a difficult deep anchorage. Deep and you are not able to see through the murky water. So as we are stubborn we chose to sail 4 hours to get here to stay 2.5 hours and had to re-anchor as our anchor dragged in seaweed in the 20 knot winds - not forecast on any weather model. After stupidly deciding to anchor side on on the pier the waves were slamming us onto the shallow sea bed. So we untied at 7.30pm and left the island of Kefalonia for a night sail.

  • Abelaki Bay

    11. maj 2024, Grækenland ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

Koutalades to Abelaki Bay . Finally the reason we are on Meganisi Island.
Exercising while living on a boat is never consistent so we grab what we can when we can. In 2021 we had the fitness to run 30km's as part of a good day out. 3 Years later we are not quite there or rather no where there so our awesome route from end to end on this magical island became a big day out oh and a bike ride 😪.

Abelaki Bay to Ormos Barbarezou. Water still chilly so Kevin checks the anchor with the SUPboard and his nose in the water. Fortunate enough to witness and capture pictures of a regatta going past. Kevin tied the line ashore through the roof of a small cave (indent).

  • Vliho Lefkada

    14. maj 2024, Grækenland ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

Vliho Lefkada. 3km long and 1km wide. That's a bay. A bit of an old boat graveyard sadly and green water you don't dare swim in but the most beautiful scenery to be surrounded by and wake up to. Mud bottom. Exceptional holding and the best Chandler around. Oh and good mountain biking 😉.Læs mere

  • Meganisi Ormos Limni

    17. maj 2024, Grækenland ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

Vliho Lefkada to Meganisi Ormos Limni. 3 Nights in the last bay of Vliho bay on Lefkada. Unusual to stay that long but what amazing mountain biking and a 7k hike to the waterfall (which wasn't really running). Definitely could have stayed longer but with no swimming in the pond we needed to leave. Having received some very distressing family news I just needed to get out back into a quieter, smaller and more natural bay. A bit of a higgledy piggledy trip trying to find a shallow anchorage by Kevin while I cooked supper. Finally our 1 hour trip became 3 hours and we found a bay that was not too deep to cast our anchor in. Lines ashore and next to a boat with a South African flag that makes ours look like a postage stamp 🇿🇦 beluw a massive house/boutique hotel.

    20. maj 2024, Grækenland ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

Meganisi Ormos Limni to Preveza Prevezis Bay. The town quay too busy and strong side winds when trying to approach. It's times like these when we find good options for anchorage and 4m good holding and access to a pier for Kevin to access the AB store. How our life is dictated to by mother nature and shopping, oh and laundry. Not incredibly pretty but convenient.

  • Paxos Lakka

    26. maj 2024, Grækenland ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

Parga to Paxos Lakka. From spectacular mountain scenery to beautiful bays. Lakka on Paxos is a beautiful anchorage - with wind and swell protection from all directions except SE. 4m consistent depth in crystal clear turquoise water, a magical tiny quaint town and a tiny island of 25 square kilometers which hosts 26 churches - the theory is that there was such a maritime tradition and so the sailors and their family built churches and chapels to seek blessings for safe travels and to give thanks.
