  • St Pete H3 Trail #152

    13. November 2020 in den USA ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

After the Jolly Roger Hash was cancelled this week, disappointingly, due to Hurricane Eta, I was chomping at the bit to get on trail today. The SPH3 is really getting a reputation for (shall we say) poorly marked trails. After issues with the start point getting specified, we ended up waiting over an hour for the hares to get their act together before we even started. Then, questionable trail, got things spread out. And, in the end, the bulk of the walkers ended up hanging out in a bar (for the beer stop) for over an hour . . . as much as I want to never come back, I know that in two weeks my insanity will prevail, and I will come back hoping for a well functioning hash event. But I will once again, anticipate disappointment. :o) But then again I laugh at myself, having run 4.5 miles, on an advertised 3.1 mile trail. What a fool I am.

  • Jolly Roger H3 Trail #1495

    18. November 2020 in den USA ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

It was billed as a birthday run, from a recently returned hasher from Korea. Crisis Identity hashed with the Osan Bulgogi H3, where he learned his skills . . . but they were lacking. After an elaborate chalk talk, he sent us out on trail, but there was not so much trail to follow, and it basically was a long rectangle, missing out on some very easy twists and turns that could have been added. He also had a check back 15, that turned out to actually be a check back 11, which kept us guess for a while. In the end, it was just another S H I . . . T T Y . . . T R A I L.Weiterlesen

    21. November 2020 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

Dab set a BASH trail for the bikers, and as usual . . . I ran it (but manged to scrape a mile or two off the edges). Was able to actually beat about half the bikers to the finish. Felt good all the way, so hoping to keep it up. There were about 15 of us in total, and after the circle, we had an excellent dinner at a German gastropub. Good times on the hash.

  • Circus H3 Trail #270

    22. November 2020 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Despite 2020 being a crazy year, with all the lockdowns and quarantines, today i ran my 100th hash trail this year. The year started out in Saipan, then trailed through several countries before getting restricted to Hawaii. After 5 months of retracing my old trails there, I set off again looking for new terrain. Florida is keeping me busy, with 2-3 trails every week. I also hared today, for the 27th time this year. Crazy, right. Hoping all the travel restrictions end soon, so I can get back to big time travel.Weiterlesen

  • St Pete H3 Trail #153

    27. November 2020 in den USA ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Well, I did it again . . . I went to the St Pete hash hoping for well marked trail, and was once again sadly disappointed. ;o) The hare bragged about setting a live trail, but also said the checks would be difficult so he would not get caught. Marks were crap, and it was only a little over a mile into trail when we hit the first of two shot stops. WTF? I did a little free ranging to see what was next, only to return to the shot stop to find out the hare was hanging out there. After about 15 minutes, he finally takes off. We wait another 5 minutes, and off we go . . . and just over a quarter of a mile later is a beer stop . . . WTF? Same process again, and about a mile later is the second shot stop . . . F-ing hell, this isn't hashing, this is putzing around. Then it was a no mark walk back to the start. less than 3 miles in total, with close to an hour of standing around at shot/beer stops. I only have myself to blame. :o) At least the circle was fun.Weiterlesen

  • Tampa Bay H3 Trail #1117

    28. November 2020 in den USA ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

It was Rectum Rider's birthday trail, and we were lured up to Lutz for 6-7 mile shigtastic trail. It was a good time, with plenty of beer, shots, and chimichangas. The walkers got the usual short boozy trail, but the runners got 4 miles of sidewalk, basically just going around the block. Darn . . . just another S H I . . . T T Y . . . hahahahahaaa.Weiterlesen

  • 6-Pack 10-K (remote)

    29. November 2020 in den USA ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Back when I was in Hawaii this past summer, I signed up to run the 6Pk/10K just to see if I could still do it. Unfortunately, it got postponed due to a lockdown, and then again a second time . . . and it didn't happen before I left. Finally getting things sorted out, PI back in Hawaii offered those of us who had already paid, to do it on our own wherever we were. So I did mine today, solo, running laps in a local park, and pulling the drinks out of the trunk of my car. Although I had no intention of creating land drawings, it appears that I did (ironically). What do you think? :o) Does it look like a foot?Weiterlesen

  • Jolly Roger H3 Trail #1500

    12. Dezember 2020 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

JRH3 reaches another milestone . . . 1500 hash trails. My first trail with the Jolly Roger was back in 2012, right after I retired from the Corps . . . trail #823. Since then I have had over 100 fun filled adventures with this hash club, which included 4 Caribbean hash cruises that were so much fun. Hopefully I will get the opportunity to run with them many more times in the future.Weiterlesen

  • Circus H3 Trail #271

    13. Dezember 2020 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

A fun trail (from Tampa Bay H3 named, former area hasher, now hashing with Houston H3, looking for an excuse to move back to Florida, welcome back) FINGER IN THE DYKE. She kept the marks simple (excellent), stayed off the pavement about half the time, and provided extra beer and food at her palatial family abode. Well done, hope it all works out for you. We also had an unusual naming, one of the longest endeavors in hash history . . . lasting about 45 minutes, with 25-30 suggested names. There were LOTS of stories, so many so, that we just let her keep talking about her life stories, we just needed to sort it all out. In the end, it came down to a sweet offering from her young son, who held up a cookie (snicker doodle). When discovering that the chocolate all over his hands was NOT in fact chocolate, she sprinted for the door, wiping out. Hence forth and forever more, she will be known as DOUBLE SHITENDRE. And fun, fun, fun, was had by all.Weiterlesen

  • Jolly Roger H3 Trail #1501

    16. Dezember 2020 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

It was supposed to have been a major storm, but our RA . . . HPV . . . skillfully managed to ward off the weather in order for this trail to go down. With only 5 hashers turning up for trail, it turned into a bit of a mess. The walkers decided to bail on trail, and Dab was biking his way around . . . our two runners got the brunt of the trail. All was well until about a mile from the finish, when our hare (Hazugoofbag) got waylaid on a rained out portion of trail, and instead of crossing off a few marks, just went back a check mark and put a false trail mark down. Our two stalwart hounds missed the ||| and found the check beyond, and that is when the shit hit the fan. They tried their best to find their way, eventually finding the way out, but not after exhausting all options on the fake check. After that, it was a cake walk into the finish. Our hare, Hazugoofbag, has learned a valuable lesson . . . no matter what, always cross out the extra marks. I scored an extra down down for that one, beer, yum.Weiterlesen

  • Other Orlando H3 Trail #2027

    19. Dezember 2020 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

I had the idea I could run two hash trails today . . . so off I went, driving 85 miles over to Orlando, and despite a 5 car pile up on I4, still manged to arrive just in time. I was looking forward to a nice 4 + miles of trail, but that was not to be. It turned out to be just 2 miles, and only over 2 because I ran a couple falsies along the way. So less that 30 minutes on trail, and well over an hour into circle, I had to beat feet even before they started their naming . . . which I knew would take some time. Ran the half mile back to start, grabbed some MickyDs on the way back to I4, and drove the 75 miles back to hash number 2.Weiterlesen

  • Tampa Bay H3 Trail #1119

    19. Dezember 2020 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

Made good time coming back from Orlando, and started off on trail just before 7 pm. I was about an hour behind, but being the 12 downs downs of Christmas trail, a pub crawl, I figured I would catch up in short order. So took off following marks, got to where the first stop was . . . and promptly lost trail. So after running around for a few minutes, I texted to see where they were at. A mile away, so off I went, and eventually found trail again along the way. Caught them at stop number 6, and the rest is history. The pack was feeling pretty happy by the time I got there. Took us another 2 hours to finish up the last 6 stops/down downs, and back to the circle up. The circle lasted under an hour, thankfully, then we had dinner at the local pub. Good day, two trails, and stayed mostly sober. Victory.Weiterlesen

  • Taco Tuesday H3

    22. Dezember 2020 in den USA ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Added another first time hash club for me, with an excellent trail with the Taco Tuesday H3 in the St Pete area. Only 3 runners, and about a half dozen walkers, but we got a good run in, over 5 miles. Then, we had home made tacos in the back yard, along with a White Elephant Christmas party . . . great trail, party, circle, and food.Weiterlesen

  • St Pete H3 #155

    25. Dezember 2020 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

It was a short, but convivial evening trail, followed by a Christmas feast at the new GM's also new palatial domicile. We had a fun pack of about a dozen, and hardly a creature was stirring as we plodded along on our merry adventure. After a quick circle out in the cold, Chardonnay Derrière made a motion that we adjourn to the warmer climes of home. So off we went, for a feast of lasagna, home made meatballs, salad, and other assorted charcuterie. Many thanks to Field and Streams for the trail, as well as hosting dinner with Chardonnay D. 🙂 Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.Weiterlesen

  • Other Orlando H3 #2028

    26. Dezember 2020 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 8 °C

The hare had been bragging about how awesome his trail was going to be, and of at least 5 miles . . . but it was a lame effort. Eagle trail was only 3 miles because I ran through a false trail, and added a couple blocks as I looped around. Still a good fun time, maybe next week will bring back the miles. Surprisingly, I ran 4 hash trails this week, and did not hare any of them. First time that has happened in the past 2 months.Weiterlesen
