One last train ride - to the mountains!

After a 45 minute walk to the busy Part Dieu Train Station in Lyon where we crossed over the Rhône River, two hours and a lively train ride later we found ourselves in the lovely getaway town of Annecy. Situated in the French Alps next to Lac d’ Annecy (Lake Annecy), it is a busy vacation spot with a fair share of interesting looking people. Sort of reminds us of Aspen, minus the ski slopes. This was our last time getting around via the excellent European system of trains. The train ride along the scenic Lac du Bourget on the way to Annecy added a nice touch to our final train travel.Read more
