Jay told me that he’s in town to drop his stuff from Japan before going back to Chicago after he finished his fellowship program in Japan. So he invited me to visit his hometown, Pune, which happened to be only 3 hour train ride from Mumbai.
Also the sim card gurl who helped me registered it also from Pune, and she’s been bragging a lot about her home town on how it is better than Mumbai in everything
I arrived in Pune shortly after that, (before i touch further, I have to warn you that getting train ticket online in India is extremely difficult for foreigners. Not only you have to register your ID and phone number, it also needs a local address and the registration process was ridiculous, one single wrong character on your address and it wont be recognized and it didnt tell you what’s wrong with your submission. It took me 4 hours to figure out how to create my account and I have been reading on reddit that people also experiencing the same issue) and managed to get to my hostel for the next two days.
Immediately notice the much calmer atmosphere and less vehicle honking at each other. Better food options and a lot more proper coffee shop for you to get stuff done with great wifi.Read more
