Swiss Birthday

It was a rainy night and morning, and we felt lucky to be camped in a campground with comfortable indoor spaces to cook and eat - a good first experience of Swiss campgrounds! When the rain lightened up we pushed off for a ride up the Rhône. In a couple hours we arrived in Sierre to meet up with Anaïs, Laurent, Amaël (9 years old), and Lohan (5), and since we were arriving for Amaël's birthday party, the Michels were there as well to celebrate their grandson's birthday. We started eating at 1 pm, a delicious 'light' lunch, then after a short break, the birthday party started and we continued eating all evening. We got to chat with friends and family of Anaïs and Laurent and taste Swiss fare, with different dishes and drinks continuing to appear throughout the evening for the party guests to enjoy.
