Another history spot, the chamber was erected in the Neolithic period 4000-2000BC, the tall stones mark the entrance of the chamber, the chamber was used for 1250 years before being abandoned.
Near 10KM hike around the north and south stack including a hike up the top of Holyhead Mountain. The views were fantastic in the end once the clouds had cleared. The hike also included a trip toWeiterlesen
Was in need of some fuel so found a place to stop with a fantastic view! Also in the fuel behind was two remaining standing stones which is believed was part of a stone circle similar to stone hengeWeiterlesen
Another impromptu stop as I drove down the western side of Holy Island was Porth Dafarch with a fanatic cliff walk with views over to the mainland.
Final stop is the seaside town of Trearddur Bay for ice cream and a walk along the bay.
Early morning start today to see the sunrise over the Welsh mountains, luckily the weather had cleaned up and I was able to see all the way to the mainland. Perilous drive down to the village, being aWeiterlesen
Stop at Porth Nobla to see Rhosneiger and Barclodiad-Y-Gawres C. 2500BC chambered cairn. Fantastic news from the beach with South Stack mountain in the background (what I climbed yesterday). The townWeiterlesen
Next stop is Aberffraw and the beach walk with one of the best views from the trip absolutely stunning spot with the mountain of Wales and Snowdonia in the background. Also picking a cracking day forWeiterlesen
Mainly came here for the views across the Menai strait however, it also had a great museum with a piece of the battle of Waterloo.
