Scotland NC 500, 2021

For centuries visitors have left offerings at the small well here and hoped for hearings. The well itself is associated with a 7th Century bishop, who spread the world that a rag or doll dipped in the water of the well and left as an offering would heal who ever it was left for! Dunrobin Castle, built between 1835-45 this relatively new castle is heavily inspired by French château style, although today it is the largest house in Northern Scotland with over 185 rooms. We did however, time our visit very well managing to catch a fantastic falconry show where the man showed how the old castle cooks would hunt game utilising the birds. We were able to see a Hawk, a Falcon and a Peregrine Falcon.Weiterlesen
