  • Day 11/12 Sea Day (35/36)

    26. november 2024, North Atlantic Ocean ⋅ ☀️ 84 °F

Two Sea Days - we worked the puzzle and I cross stitch. We played Left Center Right. I won one game. We attended a Latitude party. We got a free Diet Coke..

We had breakfast with Richard and Elizabeth, medical doctor from Canada. We’ve called Dad today to wish him Happy Thanksgiving (a day early). Glenn and I needed to restock our pill boxes, so we found a secluded bar area to fill this task.

The cruise has been spectacular. When folks hear about our 98 day journey from New York to Taiwan, they applaud and cheer us on. I have no regrets and feel blessed to take on this adventure. We have met some new friends, visited several missionaries along the way and thankful for Gods goodness to us. Day 36! Wow!

  • Day 13 Abidjan Ivory Coast (37)

    28. november 2024, Elfenbenskysten ⋅ ⛅ 82 °F

    Thanksgiving Day
We had a private tour organized by Darla. We met in the SugarCane lounge and got escorted out of the NCL SKY. We met our tour driver in his yellow van. First stop was the artesian market. I bought a magnet.

Next stop was Grand Bassam. Palace for the king. Then a custom museum. Interesting.

Traffic was much like Guatemala City. Horrible. Lots of stop and go. Smog was choking. The litter was everywhere.

We enjoyed dinner every Beth and Paul plus their granddaughter, Delicious meal.

  • Day 14/15 Sea Day & São Tomé 38/39

    30. november 2024, Sao Tomé og Principe ⋅ ☁️ 81 °F

Friday was a sea day. Cross stitch, left center and right.

On Saturday we took a Darla Tour! Beautiful. It was a tender port.

São Tomé is a Portuguese national. It means st Thomas. We drove to the iconic landmark then returned to local restaurant that had local food. Passion fruit, coconut. Rick got interviewed by a local TV Station, we saw ladies washing their clothes in the river and we enjoyed the beautiful landscape of the cliffs. Surfs and water.

Last tender was 5pm We arrived at 4:55pm. We ate dinner with Paul and Beth and discussed our day adventure. While driving back to the dock, we drive past an NCL Excursion that had a flat tire. They were definitely late arrival.

At around 7;45, we crossed over the equator. And We loose another hour later tonight.

  • Day 20 Walvis Bay, Namibia (43)

    5. december 2024, Namibia ⋅ ⛅ 64 °F

We waited for the immigration lines to be short before we got off of the SKY. We saw Paul and Beth walk off as we stood on deck 11. And the captain was in his little porch too.

Once we got off, we grabbed a taxi for 25.00 for 2 hours. He took us to see the flamingos, pink lake, salt flats, cricket field and the Dunes Mall. At the mall we bought some cookies and candy to give the workers here on the ship. We bought some bread, a Coke and cookies for our taxi driver. He said that his brother is a pastor of a Baptist church here. Unemployment is 30% and population of this town is 60,000 people. More flamingoes than people.

We bought a magnet, ear rings and bracelet from the vendors.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous. 75 degrees.
