  • Finding the RV

    5. mars 2021, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 63 °F

The Mercers picked us up and we enjoyed lunch then headed to the Wycliffe center.

3 months ago we (really Glenn) winterized the RV and then purchased this huge blue tarp to cover the RV. Then with some bungee cords he wrapped it up. We parked the RAV4 and Camry off to the left on the pad and the Scion in front. Both cars started right up. Then the RV started with our trouble.

Glenn and I washed the car s. And we are staying at Lynn R’s garage apartment. Nice. Our home, called the Treehouse, so we can really concentrate on selling the RV!

  • Got Magnolia washed

    8. mars 2021, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 70 °F

We helped gdaddy with his car, then got Magnolia washed. Had to wait in line for 1.5 hours.

Then we drove to pick up mom and dad and take them for a ride - hopefully we’ll sell the RV soon.

We drove by Jack and Val Cox. They came out to the RV and we chatted!Les mer

    We took the day off.
Stayed in the garage apartment until our late afternoon walk.
This one store had all fresh roses, daisy BEAUTIFUL!

Notice the name of the store.

Glenn is going to wear the RV mask by Laura UNTIL the Rv sells!

  • We sold our RV

    10. mars 2021, Forente stater ⋅ ☁️ 68 °F

We had a red neck guy try to line up for us to show him the RV. I just didn’t feel right about it. And thankfully he called us at 7am to cancel. Then 1 hour later, a man called from Fort Worth to see Magnolia. 2:00pm. He was excited. Lives in a hotel room and comes down to Texas from Indiana for home repair work.

Since it was a Wednesday, we enjoyed an enchilada diner. Once we arrived at Wycliffe, I started a load of laundry.

I left Glenn to negotiate the sale of the RV at the Walmart parking lot. I had a 3pm hair appointment.

Glenn got a sack full of money for the RV. Glenn went to the bank to deposit it our account. After wards they sign a bill of sale and had it notarized.

Summary, we got exactly what we paid for!

I’m exhausted and yet so appreciative that Glenn allowed us to adventure out and enjoy the National Parks, travel to see friends last summer! Thank you Glenn!

  • Dallas to Memphis

    15. mars 2021, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 54 °F

We left Dallas at 6:45, but right on time. We pulled off in New Boston, Texas and we had a quick oil change for the Scion.

We stopped in Little Rock so I could return some clothes at TJ Max while Glenn listened to Neil and Vela. We were ahead of schedule into the Martinsen’s house. Once we arrived, Carl took Glenn to mechanic shop so he could get the tires rotated. Glenn mentioned that the past week, his priority was other stuff (selling RV, seeing mom and dad) instead of getting the Scion for a road trip.

I had a 7pm zoom call. Had a good night sleep.

Glenn has been helping Carl and Karen with some computer work and TV connections and stuff.

    Also I taught them letterboxing!

  • The Cooks

    17. mars 2021, Forente stater ⋅ 🌧 59 °F

We spent the evening with Jim and Glenna Cook. I worked with Jim with Billy Graham’s crusade back in 2002. He was head of the ushers.

Glenna is an artist. Lovely work.

We even called and talked to Ron Shea! Special time.Les mer

  • Visit with Lois Paul and Quita and Andy

    21. mars 2021, Forente stater ⋅ ☀️ 64 °F

Nice visit! We’ve known them since 1977.

They served a delicious brunch - waffles, fruit and juice!

We first met when I traveled on Practical Missionary Training through Mexico and Central America.

Then Lois and Marty were visited us in Bolivia back in 1987. She made a quilt for the girls. Then we had Marty fly down to visit us as a family in 2000 as we were leaving to transition back to the Dallas.

And of course we have visited them numerous times in California. Lois use to live with Ken and Geri after Marty died and now she lives in Mississippi with her daughter and son-in-law.

So grateful for the quick visit.

  • Aunt Sarah and great grand parents

    21. mars 2021, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 68 °F

Little Annie started walking in T.E.X.A.S. while at the rest stop! Then the next day she took 20 steps.

We spent the night in Van because we needed to spend more time with Aunt Sarah. Only baby Annie stayed with Glenn and me in the hotel. The next morning, we drove on into Dallas to see gmommy and gdaddy.

We made a Walmart stop to potty and buy supplies for lunch picnic near Samuel park!

My iPhone protective cover cracked but the Knox Street nor NorthPark stores didn’t have any in stock. Hopefully in a few days I can make it up to the Galleria store.

Kids had a picnic on the floor in the kitchen of the TreeHouse. Ellen taught Emily, and Lucy how to play Phase 10.

As we’re we’re going to sleep, a huge thunderstorm with lightening and hail blew through.

  • Lake Highlands Play Street

    25. mars 2021, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 61 °F

Aunt Sherrie gifted the girls to the Dallas version of play station. They had a blast. At one point, Emily said “Lucy you need pay for the pizza!” And Lucy replied “I’ve got to go get my credit card.” Smile!

At this play station, there’s a theatre, diner, hotel and even Trolley from where they rode yesterday.

We also drove my DFW and Elizabeth screams out “Lucy, airplane!”, at the top of her voice! She loves planes! ✈️

  • Great grands, Garage sale and Airplane

    27. mars 2021, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 73 °F

We stopped by to see grandmommy, granddaddy and aunt Sherrie. All the while, we stopped at several garage sales. That Emily loves to bargain. At one garage sale, they gave the 3 girls “cuties”. The man wanted us to take the cake donuts, but we opted for the good snack.

We ordered Whatsburgers and ate a picnic lunch at the airplane museum.

    Next stop - hair cuts!

  • Haircuts, Easter photo and Smooch

    27. mars 2021, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 77 °F

All 3 girls got their hair trimmed about 4 inches. Nice fresh and cute cuts!

Then we stopped at Highland Park Village for an Easter photo.

Lynn returned from her walk and we visited out on the patio with her dog, Smooch! We had lots of laughs before we climbed the stairs to the Treehouse to eat dinner and get ready for sleep.

It’s been a fast few days of “Grammie Camp Girl edition”. We’ve watched the planes, spent time with Aunt Sherrie, Aunt Sarah, Grandmommie/daddy, breakfast club, got hair cuts and discovered NorthPark Mall plus other fun stuff.
