We started off by spending one night around Westminster, and then by following the 1 along the Pacific Ocean north. Our first stop was at a little beach nearby Santa Barbara.

Salt Lake in San Jose

Following Sacramento River

We left the bay area and followed Sacramento River until we reached Sacramento. The landscape next to the river feels very similar to some areas next to Elbe River in Germany. Weather was great and weWeiterlesen

After a stop in Sacramento, we continued through the mountains of North California. We took detours on purpose, to see as many beautiful spots as possible. And we were successful!

A night in Weed

On our way to Oregon, we stopped at a little town called Weed, located right next to Mt. Shasta. They really knew how to get the tourists in with that name xD
A night in Madras

And we finally made it to Oregon. After a quick stop to get our car checked and fixed, we arrived in Madras.
Road to Portland

After leaving Madras, we headed west over a little street, passing by a village called Warm Springs. Our goal for the day was Portland, where we wanted to meet some friends.

Portland Retro Gaming Expo 2024

We stayed in Portland for another day, because timing was great for us and we were able to visit the Retro Gaming Expo together with a friend.

We crossed a bridge and now looked across the river from the other side, towards Oregon. Now it was time to find a path into the mountains, because we wanted to be further away from big cities andWeiterlesen
Into the forests of Washington

We found a tiny road into the forests and before a last quick stop in Trout Lake to refill our gas, we took a street nearby and around Mt. Adams.

The trip through the forest started off great. We arrived at a beautiful waterfall which looked great during sunset.

What we didn't know, the street continued being a gravel road. Our navigation tried to guide us all the way around this road until it was "too late", but it was definitely an experience :D

Morning at the pacific coast

We made it all the way up, even a little further north than Seattle. After driving through almost the whole night, we had a (tired) but rewarding morning!
