Souq Waqif

After visiting the royal camel guard and the royal stables, our tour guide led us towards the center of the -> Souq Waqif .

Once there, we were immediately hit by the different smells of the many spices. Before my trip, my family had already made me aware of the fact that there could be a strong smell, especially at markets like this where lots of fresh spices are on offer, but it was simply indescribable. No matter which way you turned or which alleyway of the market you entered, it smelled differently in every place.

Okay, except maybe in the section where birds of different breeds were sold, because it smelled a bit strong there. But apart from that, the market itself was really impressive and is definitely a must-see on any trip to Doha.

Nach dem Besuch der königlichen Kamel Garde und den königlichen Stallungen führte unsere Reiseleiterin uns nun in Richtung Zentrum des -> Souq Waqif .

Dort angekommen, stiegen uns direkt die unterschiedlichen Gerüche der vielen Gewürze in die Nase. Ich wurde im Vorfeld meiner Reise durch meine Familie schon etwas sensibilisiert, dass es gerade auf solchen Märkten wo viele frische Gewürze angeboten werden sehr stark danach riechen könnte, doch das war einfach unbeschreiblich. Egal in welche Richtung man sich drehte oder in welche Gasse des Marktes man ein bog, an jeder Stelle roch es anders gut.

Ok, außer vielleicht in dem Abteil, wo Vögel unterschiedlicher Rassen verkauft wurden, denn dort roch es dann doch etwas streng. Aber ansonsten war der Markt an sich wirklich sehr beeindruckend und ist definitiv ein Muss für jede Doha Reise.Leia mais
