After a lunch stop at the Lewis Pass Summit we went on to Balmoral reserve. Birds chirping. Trees all around. Drinking water taps everywhere. So peaceful. Weve decided to stay a couple of nights 🌙

  • Bus reorientation

    11.–12. feb. 2024, New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

We stayed at a FC on the outskirts of Nelson to reorient ouselves with 'Red'. Weve been house/petsitting for rhe last 11 days and had dragged stuff inside so had to put things back in place. Such a lovely feeling coming "home" to Red. Had the BEST nights sleep last night back in RedLes mer

  • Canvastown

    29. jan.–1. feb. 2024, New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

Heading for Nelson to do some petsitting but dont really want to try and find FC's in the city so we stopped at canvastown to wait out the time before we go. Its only 40mins to Nelson from here.
Parked at the back of the Pelorus Tavern, a freedom camp at Canvastown. There was a woman who in the old days went down to do her washing in the river beside us and noticed a HUGE gold nugget she told someone and it caused a major gold rush in the area Hence the name Canvastown as there were tents everywhere. It was the biggest nugget found in this area.

  • At the dog park

    27.–28. jan. 2024, New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Drove from Kaikoura to Renwick. Stopping the night at the Renwick Dog Park. Great for Sofia as she can run in the off leash area and there's even a paddling pool for the little dogs. Of course Sofia got in. We reckon its around 36°. 🔥Les mer

Were marking time before leaving on our next leg. The weathets been so hot all weve been doing is blobbing out. We got so hot yesterday we ran the hose and got cooled down under it. We even put Sofia under it as she was soo hot. She loved it and ran in and out of the spray. It was very cute. The cat were looking after here (Freddy)is very cute and cuddly but hates Sofia. The two of them take wide berths of each other. Its quite amusing to watch.Les mer

  • Backing Camera not working

    11. januar 2024, New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Had to make a stop in at Newlands Auto electrical to get our "reasonably" new bluetooth camera looked at. I say reasonably because it was new when we started out a couple if years ago 🤣. It just doesnt feel that long ago. One of the things I'm loving about the Sth Island is it always seems to be easy to book in work and theres always spaces for us 'big' rigs to park ❤️Les mer

  • Diary purchase 🤣

    9. januar 2024, New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

Excursion into Ashburton. Crossing bridge we saw this bird nesting area. Carried on to warehouse stationery to get a "real" diary to keep track of our days as we're needing to keep some perspective/overview of time ⏲️ 🤣Les mer
