Walking around, we came across the residence of the Italian ambassador in Baku. A little piece of Italy right in the heart of the castle district.

Just like in Turkey, there is a great love for cats here too.
In a small shop, we saw newborn kittens roaming and playing near a basket placed under a large Azerbaijani flag.
Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center

The Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center is named after the former president and father of Azerbaijan’s current president.

In addition to the building itself, the Cultural Center offers a view of the entire city skyline — a beautiful view on the many buildings and skyscrapers built in Baku’s modern districts.
Time to head to the airport

This long layover in Baku is coming to an end, so we take a taxi to the airport.
The street is lined with modern skyscrapers, and along the way we see many Iranian flags, specially put up for the Czytaj więcej
Time to leave Baku and go back home!

The Iranian president’s plane took off just before our plane, and we managed to spot it from our airplane window.
