    Bangkok

    February 15, 2023 in Thailand ⋅ 🌧 28 °C

Day 1: Met Rhea from CS. And her hyper energetic fish loving (obsessive?) 8yo son Carlos. Carlos loves to talk about fish. Every 2 minutes. When he's not talking about fish, Carlos runs around making fart sounds with his mouth while spraying you with his spittle. That's what I remember sweet Carlos as- A mouth farting, spittle spraying fish head.
I forgot to pack my shoes and the very kind Rhea borrowed me her slip ons which I forgot and never returned her. So the duo took me on a multi hour evening walk that included some amazing local street food and drinks. Pad Thai & mango sticky rice of course. We covered almost the whole of Bangkok and when we're done, I couldn't take a step more. It was a good walk.

    Temple Run

    February 16, 2023 in Thailand ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

Day 2: Woke up, had street food, visited some temples, had street food, visited more temples, then some more street food and a few more temples. And then... well, you get the idea.
Realised the best mode of transportation in Bangkok is by boats. There are many canals channelling throughout the city which eventually end up into the Chao Phraya river. And where there's no water, a bike taxi is your best bet to get anywhere quick. Skytrains are practical too. Forget about cars and buses. Just forget it.
Even though I could've eaten Pad Thai and mango sticky rice forever, once the Sun started to set, I chose a nice café across the river overlooking Wat Arun. Such splendid views. Then I hopped on the bike taxi to Iconsiam for some more street food. This time Indoors style. Such a fun concept. I concluded the trip in Big C supercenter for some shopping. Ok maybe more than some. Blame it on the prices!
