    Day 16 Tatopani to Ghorepani (2855m)

    When we thought the trekking was nearly done we had non-stop walking uphill today from 7.30 til 4! The trail climbed all day through small hamlets (Ghara and Chitre) and terraced fields where they were collecting in the rice. Saw how the local school uniforms were made and many more cattle to pet! As usual our tea house was the last in a very long village and when you think you are nearly there... Lovely sunset over the Annapurnas (and apple crumble with custard).Leggi altro

    Day 17

    16 novembre 2016, Nepal ⋅ ☀️ 14 °C

    What goes up must come down but first we had more steps to climb. Up at 5 to walk up Poon Hill for sunrise over the Annapurnas, Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhare. Then we continued down a stone staircase descending nearly 2000m! Met a Nepali Uni group trekking who were good company. Again, the landscape changed as we descended through jungle like forests and the temperature really increased. It was time to thank our guides and porters with tips and a few beers. This of course led to there favourite pass time of singing and dancing! Thank goodness we'd learnt their favourite song as it was sung over and over again!Leggi altro

    Day 18 Birethanti to Pokhara

    18 novembre 2016, Nepal ⋅ ☀️ 14 °C

    Just a 1 hour walk today (where we saw a small crab on the path!) to Naya Pul before picking up a bus that took us to the lakeside town of Pokhara. As if we hadn't had enough exercise after 9 days rafting and 18 days trekking we hired mountain bikes for the afternoon! Time to give the feet a rest but no guesses as to what hurt after the very bumpy, rocky roads that we rode on... Relaxed and fun evening out at a restaurant with the group.Leggi altro

    Pokhara to Kathmandu

    An early morning flight out of Pokhara with amazing views over all the mountains we have been walking around. Love the 24 seater aircraft as you really get a feeling of flying. Back to civilisation and time to fill up on food, rest and re-pack before moving on again.Leggi altro
