    Immouzar Marmoucha with new friends

    8. maj, Marokko ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

At breakfast one morning at Skoura Gite, a woman sneezed. Susanna said bless you, which turned into a conversation, and then a friendship with a woman from Rabat. Amina was in the region for a short holiday to celebrate her birthday and see a friend.

She kindly connected us with her friend Mimoun, who generously offered to be our next host at his family's house in Immouzar Marmoucha. Mimoun is preparing to run a guest house. Amina was heading there next. So, we all gathered for two nights at his house.

Mimoun and his family were incredible hosts. Moroccan hospitality is a deeply held value. Their welcome of "marhaba" feels sincere and is often accompanied by tea and delicious foods. At Mimoun's, we seemed to always be feasting, being shown around, or resting. We truly were guests. It was a gift to experience this.
