    Pushkar

    New day new town :) Before leaving we had to go see Jantar Mantar, astronomical museum in Jaipur where they have huge structures to tell time and positions of planets. Full of tourists, kids, who wanted to take pictures with us :) Another market and we booked an Uber to take us to Pushkar. Uber we didn't get because he wanted too much money so the hostel got us some private taxi. A 3 hour ride through Rajasthan got us to Pushkar. The way they drive on highway is crazy, overtaking everywhere, trucks driving in opposite direction,... Crazy!
    Pushkar is a cute little town, full of street food vendors, rooftop restaurants and cows, of course :) Got a nice dinner and off to bed, adventure awaits tomorrow!    Read more

    Merry Christmas from Pushkar

    Pushkar is just wonderful! A small town, with a lake in center (holi, of course), streets with food and all kinds of stuff... We met a Slovenian guy living and working there, hs a school for girls. We just spent a day walking around, shopping, taking pictures, eating.
    Me and Matjaž went up nearby hill for a overview of the city, quick 15 minute walk :) In our way up we met Jana, a Slovenian girl traveling India.
    We went by the lake at sunset, people played drum, danced, it was really calm and nice :)
    For Christmas dinner we went to some nice restaurant, also girl we met joined us, but we left soon because "traditional Rajasthany music" included drums and it was just too loud to even talk!
    After leaving we heard some psytrance music so of course we went and check. We were the first ones to come, soon followed by many tourists / trancers, party on! 🤘 Since you cannot drink alcohol in Pushkar we smuggled some Gin and had our own gintonics 😊 We left at around midnight because we heard police was coming searching for beers. #yolo    Read more

    Christmas day

    Merry Christmas! It was another easy day, more food, chais and shopping. Me and Mara had a night taxi to Jaipur because we have a plane tomorrow to Hubli.
    Bought a tibetan bowl for a friend and one for myself. Wonderful sound!
    Evening taxi took around 3 hours to Jaipur hostel, run by a really sweet lady, who cooked us dinner, told us all about her son working in Ireland. We had to go to bed soon, only 4 hours until alarm!    Read more

    Oh what a transition day!

    Slept 3 hours, woke up, car to airport, flight to Ahmedabad, then delayed flight to Hubli. Finally, 30 degrees, sun, felt better immediately, nose uncloged in a second 😊
    Followed by 3 hour train to Hospet where we found out we can't get to hostel because ferry stops at 5pm and Hostel could not be reached. Finally a hotel in Hospet for 2500 rupees with hot shower. I'm going to bed because I'm sick a bit. Ate some random pill, should work 🤘Read more

    HAMPI!

    Room last night was quite comfy, hot shower, pills, zzzz. I woke up fiverish tho, but somehow better. Yay!
    We went to the street to find some breakfast. There was actually a breakfast place on the street, for locals. Breakfast and coffee for two - 100 ruppee (1,2€). Pretty good 😋 Next up was what we came here for - Hampi!
    We found a hostel for one night, a cottage in some alley. All is full. The tuktuk driver from last night (named Freehug, which he proudly showed tattooed on his arm) took us there and then to som temples. This place is BEAUTIFUL! Boulder rocks all around us. And you go to one temple, continue to another, it just doesn't end! This kingdom was huge! It is quite impossible to take photo of anything without 73 people posing or doing selfie, so patience is a virtue 😊 We continued to another temple, guard tower and elephant stables. So lovely to just walk around in silence. In the end we went to some rock in the hill to see the whole place, green rice fields and banana fields, rocks all around. Amazing!
    Dinner time - finally some chicken! Yes, I ordered an enchilada. It was so good! And 4 mango juices, this restaurant is so good, we're coming back tomorrow for breakfast.    Read more

    Hampi, day two

    Since we are in the center of Hampi it's easy to go around 😊 Amazing breakfast and off we went to see a big tower temple and surroundings. So nice, so many people, school kids smiling, always asking us to take pictures or selfie with them. They are just so lovely!
    Me and Mara ran out of money so we needed to head aaaaaall the way back to Hospet, because all ATMs were closed. In India there is always a guard near atm so it must've been some special day.
    Got the money and went over the river to hippie island, where beer is allowed, people smoking weed everywhere (nope, I'm done with that), we passed some rice field and hiked to a nearby hill. Finally, peace and quiet! We just sat there, quiet, observing the area, so beautiful! Mara was really enjoying the sun.
    In the evening we just got some dinner, bought a dress for Eva ❤️ and went to bed. Whole night there were monkeys running on our roof 🤣    Read more

    Hampi , last day

    Last day in Hampi. We pretty much saw all important temples, so after breakfast our tuktuk guy came and took us to see Queen's bath, Water steps and Rama temple. It was such a hot day. Without any more ideas and tired of sand and heatwe headed back to Hospet to eat and having beers while waiting for evening sleeper bus to Goa!
    Surprisingly bed was big enough for me. Ride was okay but bumpy because of Indian roads. Even highways are far from Deutsche Autobahn 🤣    Read more

    Goa

    Finally, a warm place! Goa is all Christian so there are christmas trees everywhere. We came to hostel and there was no one anywhere, we later found out there was closing party for some festival last night and they all went :)
    We took a scooter and drove up to Arambol, to meet with my friend Theo from UK, he is here for his honeymoon. Driving in Goa (during day) is awesome, so many roads, so many places, beach, sun,... Beach was full of people, swimming, running, kite surfing, tons of bars,... We had fun, talking to Theo, he was just ending his trip.
    Driving back home was more hectic - after sunset tons of people migrate down south, roads are full, there was honking, overtakings, driving on all side, CRAZY! But we survived 😊    Read more

    Happy New Year!

    After chilling all day before the big night it was time to party! We went to the beach to Curlies and Shiva valley. What a party, what a night! Met tons of nice people, danced well into the noon next day, amazing music!
