  • Doi Inthanon - roof of Thailand

    December 13, 2016 in Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

Of course there was a huge cloud at the top and we didn't see much :) The peak is 2565m above sea level, named after 7th King. Nothing much to see here though. About 10 minutes awat are two pagodas, for their late King and a queen. King's one is 5m higher because King was 5 years older than a queen. From here you can see Chiang Mai below and they have some pretty nice gardens. Really a beautiful and peaceful place :)Read more

  • Loco Elvis and ...

    December 13, 2016 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

I really needed some western food, eating rice all the time is not good :) In went out and found this place called Loco Elvis, a mexican restaurant / karaoke bar. The food was amazing, also there was some rock band playing everything from Oasis to Queens, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ... and they were amazing! People would just sang along, then some tuktuk driver stopped by and started making soap bubbles, you just gotta love Thailand's random things. After band ended some group of people came in and started songing karaoke. First one girl insisted I sing, then another, then whole group asked me to join them. Sadly karaoke machine got turned off before it was my turn. Oh well, we just switched to tequillas, beer, went to some clubs (where you buy a bottle of whiskey for 499THB), were dancing on some stage, ... Some of us ended up walking through the town, sitting in parks, asking some cool monk about meaning of life and buddhism, ... What a night! And what a hangover, slept through whole next day so even the receptionist was worried about me :) Thai are such lovely people ❤Read more

  • Awesome Pai

    December 17, 2016 in Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

On Friday my friends arrived from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. It was also first cloudy day (not connected of course, hehe) on my Thailand trip. After few beers in the night we've headed to Pai in the morning. A 3 hiur bus drive is not the most comfortable, but for 250THB it was okay :)
Pai is a wonderful town, it has this hippy vibe with a lot of small restaurants and stores along the main street, oh so nice! Already rented some scooters (yes mom, I have a helmet!) so we're off to explore this Thailand's pearl :)

It's hidden inside canyon, some are even swimming, I skipped that part. We rode we kms to see the famous Pai Canyon, around 50m high path around it was a must see! It can be a bit dangerous going around with all those asians doing selfies. An easy day :)Read more

  • Jungle trekking

    December 19, 2016 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Yeah, they convinced me to go for a trekking. They picked us up in the morning, a foggy and cold one. 3 of us along with a couple (a Briton and girl from Singapore) were driving in a back of antruck for an hour before we've headed for the jungle. It was pretty amazing, a guide showed us some caves, where passion fruit grown (ate them directly from trees), ate papayas, ... It was a 2 hour walk through jungle with all the spiders, butterflies, tons of insects until we reached some remote village for lunch. All the villages used to frow opium when it was pegal, now they need to burn down more jungle to grow corn to earn same amount of money. Another 2 hours hike got us back to the road and we were taken for hot spring. Amaaaazibf! A hot water with all the people sitting inside, it felt really good! It was a fun day, but were just too tired for anything else :)Read more

  • The tribe festival

    December 20, 2016 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

There was this festival around 12km outside from Pai. We took our bikes and rode there. Amazing place, a comune growing organic food, the place was as hippy as it gets! There weren't many people, but the energy and smiles and music, all we needed :) We left the party earlier because of not many people and just too many vodka buckets. No comments :) At the end of the nigh we stopped by a burger place and has wild board burger - best burger I've had!Read more

  • Bye northern Thailand, hello Haad Yuan

    December 22, 2016 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

It was time to day goodbye. Well, to the northern part of Thailand and go to my favourite place :) We headed back to Chiang Mai and I had an early (6:55) flight to Bangkok. It was haaaard to wake up, but the thought of our bay was on my mind. What woke me up though (from dreams) was later flight from Bangkok to Koh Samui. Food was awful, which is a standard for Bangkok Airways, plane was full of typical tourists, all complaining, americans being smart how things shoud and shouldn't be, later people yelling at Thai ladies ar airport taking care for taxis, again, thought of being two boatrides away from our beach helped :) The thing about Thai transport is you'll get there, it may seem unorganised, but don't you worry, they have everything under control, even if you book a taxi/boat/bus for 3 days ahead, they'll find you on time.
Finally all that was left was to get off Koh Samui to Koh Phangan with a Haad Rin Queen ferry which takes around 50 minutes. I was like a child going to a Disneyland, only one tailboat ride away.
Just seeing our bay, the rocks, the beach, all the memories that came to my head, it was amazing! While walking from once beach to another ober a small hill I sat on a bench for half an hour and just enjoyed the view. I missed it so much! Because the waves were too high they left me at Haad Tien, it's not a nice walk with backpack and a huge wave hit me so I was all wet, but I was in my paradise :) The owner of Ocean Rock resort was happy to see me, so was some Burmese gorl working there, because of rain they didn't have much guests and were awaiting us. They gave me beer and left me ti just stare and smile while watching Haad Yuan beach, I couldn't believe I was really there again :)
I just had to wait for my friends to arive same and next day. But doing that with sweet sound of waves, I could do this forever :) Oh home sweet home (away from home) ❤

  • Merry Christmas!

    December 24, 2016 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

It was an easy day, swimming, drinking pineapple shakes, beers, ... But we all waited for the night to come and go my favourite club in the world - Eden Garden, a little magical place with most amazing people and great music! It's the time of year when whole "family" (people living there, people visiting this place) come together and have a crazy party! People smiling, like we all know each other, everything full of love and happiness, oh I missed that place. There was even a girl walkng around and giving wrapped xmas gifts to random people, a friend got rubber duckies for bath, such a cool gesture. Gotta love that place! No pictures though, didn't have the camera, but there is a photo of my xmas dinner - Haad Yuan Chicked Sandwich and Chang, yumm!Read more

  • Bottle beach

    December 29, 2016 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

It's nice to have a four day chilling and relaxing between Christmas and New Year, isn't it? :) We've headed to the northern part of Koh Phangan to a remote beach called Bottle Beach. It's quiet here, no parties, just good food, swimming, throwing frisbee with other backpackers, I've also got some work done (and will do some more, I've just finished breakfast. Yes mom, Daša and others, I'm eating breakfast :)). Finaly I've also subscribed to New Scientist magazine, it's not cheap but articles are really awesome, I just can't stop reading. Same goes for Klemen, a true bookworm :) We're also waiting for the third member to fly down here for the north and tomorrow we're heading back to Haad Yuan for the NY fun :)Read more
