Thoughts from the middle of the night

    July 2, 2019 in Spain ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

There is something so amazing about communal living. People laughing, talking, sharing what they have to take care of one another, and then it all goes sideways at nighttime. That’s when what I have come to call the symphony of the night or eine kleine nachtmusik begins . I will wake up in the night to the symphony and find myself in tears from laughing so hard. Allow me to describe it for you. On the low ends you have what I call the bears or chainsaws. Once they set the tempo, the mids or goat boys join in. On the high notes the swan ladies and snake people will give a nose whistle or honk and hiss. As the musicians are flowing and working towards the crescendo..... Now that’s when the magic happens. The choir joins in to the musical feast. The night talkers and hummers whip everyone into a frenzy with their hmmmmmmmmmmmm and wolf wolf or, oh, oh oh oh, ohhhhhh, oh oh. And then the crescendo gives way to resolution and silence. Sadly there is no applause or bravo calls for these musicians of the night. They just re-tune their instruments and start the next movement a little later. I’m sure Mozart is impressed though.Read more
