    Photos of our time in Cinque Terre which is a world heritage listed area encompassing five villages - Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. They are all connected by train which we made good use of to visit all villages. We stayed five nights at Manorala. Each village was very busy with tourists and we would not like to be there in peak time.Read more

    Our photos of Sardinia. What a great trip we had with Dale and Jennifer driving ourselves around on the wrong side of the road and avoiding crazy Italian drivers! Highly recommend a trip to Sardinia which we found was not as crowded as the mainland. We arrived early in the morning, picked up our rental car and drove to Cannigone for two nights.Read more

    On our way from Cal Gonone to Alghero, we drove through hilltop villages and stopped at Orgosolo which is the best known place for street art in Sardinia - 150 murals. At Alghero we also visited Elephant Rock, Castelsardo and Capo Caccia National Park.Read more

    After our three nights in Alghero, we drove to Bosa and then headed to our accommodation ranch at Agriturismo Sa Rocca. The next day we visited Porto Flavia on our way to Cagliari.

    We thoroughly enjoyed a very relaxing seven days on the MS Antaris cruising amongst the Croatian Islands. Our cruise began in Dubrovnik and we cruised to the quaint fisherman's village of Slano. The ended with dinner and live Klapa music with the Captain.Read more

    A short cruise away from Slano was the island of Mljet. Much of the island is covered by Mljet National Park which includes two unique saltwater lakes and a medieval monastery. We then cruised to Korcula and for a town walking tour.Read more

    We stopped for a swim in the warm waters of the Adriatic on our way to Vis Island. Until the late 80’s, it was closed to tourism and served as a military zone for the Yugoslav army. We explored Vis Town waterfront.Read more

    We had a morning cruise to Bisevo Island’s Blue Cave, one of the most unique natural phenomena in the world. Only recently opened to the public, its silvery blue waters are a must-see. We then continued to Hvar Town, the historical centre of Hvar Island, for a guided walking tour.Read more

    We began the day cruising along this beautiful island to its ancient port of Stari Grad. There was a swim stop in a secluded bay before continuing our exploration of the island by coach. We visited a Hvar’s small fishing village to get a glimpse of traditional island life, then drove through vineyard-covered hills, olive groves and undulating rosemary and lavender fields. We enjoyed a tasty peka lunch including wine tasting at a local konoba (traditional tavern) and return to Stari Grad with the evening free.Read more

    We explored one of the Adriatic’s loveliest islands, Brac and the picturesque town of Bol where is the famous Golden Horn beach. We continued onboard, enjoying lunch as we travelled to historic Split. With our local guide, we discovered the city’s historic centre built around the 4th century.Read more

    After leaving the MS Antaris, eighteen (which went down to eight) of us boarded a 50 seater bus for a five day tour through Croatia, Slovenia, and ending in Venice. We visited Trogir for a tour of its ancient artistic centre before a culinary experience at Bibich Winery where we tasted locally produced wines and regional delicacies. We then continued to one of Europe's great natural wonders, Plitvice Lakes National Park.Read more

    In the morning we did a guided walking tour through Plitvice park where 16 terraced lakes are connected by cascading waterfalls offering breathtaking scenery. We then travelled to Croatia’s capital Zagreb and did a guided walking tour.Read more
