    Croatia to Slovenia

    We headed to neighbouring Slovenia, firstly stopping in its capital city Ljubljan. We did a guided walking tour in the Baroque Old Town, open-air market, Robba's Fountain and the Three Bridges. Afterwards we did a furnicular ride to Ljubljana Castle perched on a hill overlooking the city. When we arrived at Bled in the afternoon, we did a pletna boat ride on the lake followed by a visit to the island's church and the castle perched on a clifftop overlooking the village.Read more

    We travelled to Lake Bohinj for a cable car ride to the top of Mt Vogel for incredible views of the Julian Alps. We also visited a local tourist farm for an opportunity to participate in a butter making workshop.Read more

    Bled to Venice

    We travelled to Postojna and ventured into the undergound world to explore one of Europe’s largest cave systems. We travelled by electric train into the caves and explored the two million year old caverns, halls and passages of this jaw-dropping subterranean world. We then crossed the border into Italy arriving in Venice in the late afternoon.Read more

    On our first morning in Venice, we had a great early photo walk tour with Marco Secchi who certainly knew the hidden and non-tourist streets, bridges, and canals to explore.

    On our second day, we visited Burano which is a small island at the northern end of the Venetian lagoon and famous for its colourful houses. Two full days in Venice was hardly enough but we made the most of it before flying home.Read more
