The drive from Alta to Tromso. Highway E6.

In good weather the drive is 3 hours but today it took us 8 1/2 hours due to high winds and very icy roads!

Our tour guide is a fountain of knowledge on the countries including their history culture daily life current economics and politics so no trip is ever boring. Plus we have watched various movies - Finland in WW2, the most popular Finnish movie last year which had a very simple story where nothing much happened and a movie about the Norwegian who first made it to the south pole.
This last movie although a drama was a comedy because our guide had to translate as the movie was half in English and half in Norwegian and subtitled in some language. Her deadplan delivery was hysterical plus she added in bits - very entertaining.

We are all stocked up on food so if we did get trapped we could survive weeks! Czytaj więcej
