Collected pics of interesting snack foods. The best might be the Angry Birds fish cakes and the green tea Kit Kats.
Party barge

We arrived at Good Times Resort and were so warmly greeted. Our host, Chalee, then surprised the students with dinner and dancing on her friend’s party barge. It was a great time!
Recess time!

We joined the youngest students for playground time.

We spent the morning at a local school. Interestingly, students were studying English. However, we are told that the level of proficiency is not high because there is little opportunity to practice atOkumaya devam et
Chinese temple

We visited the most stunning Chinese temple. But interestingly, it borders a Thai temple. We climbed up to the top and the views of the rice fields are incredible.
Neighboring Thai temple

Here is us at the Thai temple.

We visited both Thai and Chinese cemeteries for comparisons. Thais are cremated and ashes are buried.
Tilapia farming

We made a quick stop at a local tilapia farm.
POW cemetery

Students studied the history of the Thai/Burma railroad built during WW2 by POWs worked to death. There bodies are buried in three immaculate cemeteries in Kanchanaburi.
Famous bridge on the river Kwai

More WW2 history...this is the famous bride on the river Kwai. But the real pronunciation is like Kway. The movie changed it...and it was incredibly inaccurate. Your students can tell you why.
Eating some bugs

A visit to the big vendor is a right of passage for this study abroad. These students gobbled them up.
And some of the bug eaters are...

These brave students! And some of them ate roasted frogs and larvae. Others tried bamboo worms and crickets.
Thai spring roll lessons

Students are cooking spring rolls with chef Tom. Will move onto curry and noodles shortly.

Red curry, glass noodles, cashew chicken

Students hard at work making my lunch!

Odd food of the day

At a rest stop we found a woman pressing dried squid. She hangs them to dry out.
Beach time!

Just enjoyed a little time on the Gulf. The fishing boats add a nice touch. A local woman was digging for clams for her dinner.
National park

We visited another national park but could only get there by boat. Students climbed up the mountain to the top.
Fishing village

We are in a fishing village on the Gulf of Thailand. The fishermen leave early and have already returned (by noon). You see lots if crab pots in the canals.
Lunch on the canal

Seafood lunch at a local spot on the canal. Soft shell crab, oysters, snapper, etc.
A local shrimp farm

We met a local shrimp farmer who allowed us to visit the farm he tends (for someone else). He gave us a great tour and answered lots of questions. His home suggests yo us that he is not well paid forOkumaya devam et
Boat ride to the fishing village

Took boats through the canal to the fishing village. Beautiful scenery!
Why did the monkey cross the road?

As we were leaving the canal, we came across the monkeys, who were all over the road.
Sorting shrimp

We randomly passed a station where workers were sorting shrimp into different sizes, since larger ones fetch a better price per kilogram.
