    Trip here was not fun. Would have been ok if I had left 2 extra hours. Rushing through hours of highway travel, rain clouds, trying to find gas stations, no fun. First impression is park is nice. Quite large, right on the lake. A band was playing. Kids have playgrounds. Lots of people laughing. Almost everyone has a hard side. Wonder if it's for cold lake air. Sarah's solar powered battery pack is charging my helmet. I'm going to take a long hot shower, then bed with no dinner.Okumaya devam et

    The falls were really great. Weather has been excellent all day. The hiking trail pretty much paralleled the road. I tried to hike a few miles but I am very out of shape and could manage only a couple. For the walk back I stayed on the road to make it as easy as possible. It was a forced march at the end.

    The last photo is taken at Inspiration Point. You are looking at Middle Falls. High Falls is behind them.

    Middle Falls is really something. The underlying rock is sandstone and you can see how it erodes in big plates. The road to Upper Falls was closed. Must be the railroad construction.

    Village House Restaurant

    This is Albion NY. It is surrounded by farms, it's downtown has the classic row of different shaped buildings, most are empty, and several different kinds of large stone churches. There are several old factories. It has a prison and a Wal-Mart on the edge of town. That's America.

    This is pretty much the only sit-down restaurant in town. Old timers yak about old cars.    Okumaya devam et

    The Lumberyard Restaurant

    What a surprise! This place is in Perry NY. It's on a side road off the main road. It's behind and attached to the town municipal garage and across the street from a defunct factory turned into self storage. Sounds bad right? This place has an amazing menu of steak and seafood dishes. The specials were a prime rib, pork medallions in peach and bourbon glaze, stuffed grouper, and a scallops dish. The interior is nice with large wood beams everywhere. My haddock had Ritz cracker topping lol.

    Well, it's an hour back to camp. I'm making a point of leaving time this time. I'll put up the Letchworth pictures later.    Okumaya devam et

    Google took me on a local road. Out here they're straight with less traffic and you get to see local stuff. It's nice. Seen several abandoned farmhouses.

    There are signs everywhere that there is a steep, dangerous drop to the water. (There's no beach.) They're not kidding. The shore is being eroded insanely fast. The ground is being dissolved right in front of you. How did this just start? Do they not have the money to stop it? How fast is it going?

    Conditions went to cold and damp fast. Must be back inside the old air mass. Almost caught up to the storm front so time to eat lunch. Sbarro's pasta is pretty blah. I've heard like 4 different languages here and saw an extended family dressed like 19th century Puritains. Since I didn't see a 65 mph horse and buggy I wasn't sure what to think.
