    Damn it's 36 degrees out. I was thinking that since it's going to rain Tuesday and Wednesday I'd really like to stop in DC and see some museums. But it would be hard on a bike in a complicated city with no plan, and I'm already kind of tired from riding the tough roads here. So now I'm going to go on the highway all day (also very tiring due to aches and fatigue, ug.) I'd like to get to PA so I'll be north of the heaviest rain. If anyone has suggestions for what to do with the remaining 6 days of my 2 week vacation let me know.Les mer

    Cold feet

    By the time the bike was ready for gas my toes were pretty chilly. The rest of me was surprisingly good. Couldn't do it without the heated jacket and gloves. I took a glove off and (according to this calculator online) the wind chill feels like 40 but it felt way colder to me! Check radar and keep moving.Les mer

    It's a little early for a gas break but the sign said accident ahead so I'm going to check Google. There's a guy here with a sidecar and a German Shepherd. He just put the dog in another car. He said he rode here from Seattle and I think he said because he has an inoperable brain tumor.Les mer

    I was getting sleepy so had to get off. Just my luck I'm at an exit with big box and fast food for miles. Nowhere to nap in grass and peace. How about all those rural exits when I needed gas?

    I'm eating at a Bojangles. It's the McDonald's of fried chicken. The entire menu is fried chicken. And the radio is Christian pop. One song the entire lyric was "there is power in the name of Jesus / there is power in the name of Jesus / there is power in the name of Jesus / there is power in the name of Jesus" repeat. This restaurant probably won't be in New England any time soon.Les mer

    Stop and go rush hour 95 N in SW CT. Just what you want after a long, tiring trip. Now I'm just having a little junk food to sit for a minute. This state rest stop looks like a cheap cafeteria and sounds like urban bass.Les mer

    Made it home in 2 pieces. (One fender is coming loose.)

    Trip was good. Trailer project was a big success. The bike performed well but the windscreen doesn't screen wind very well. The biker roads down there were really cool and I'm glad I ended up on some of the other roads, they were just as good. I bought the bike with 80500 miles and now it has 83250. Now I want some down time and a salad.Les mer
