  • Sunset Boat Party

    October 1, 2021 in Colombia ⋅ 🌧 17 °C

It’s been a while since I was having a party 🎉 😎 so I joined a sunset boat party from the hostel I was staying at. It was super fun and of course they challenged the only "German Guy" on the boat to do the funnel drinking thing. Well of course I set a new record of 2.18 seconds 🇩🇪🍺Read more

  • Salento

    October 10, 2021 in Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

Next stop is Salento. Also a very colorful and vibrant village with lots of artisanal shops selling handcrafted goods. I really enjoyed this place as and the view from the hotel. It is also the starting point for the hike at Valle de Cocora which I’m doing tomorrow.Read more

  • Hiking at Valle de Cocora

    October 10, 2021 in Colombia ⋅ 🌧 13 °C

Today I went on a day hike at Valle de Cocora. I already figured out that Colombians are not really big hikers so I was pretty much by myself. Until to the point where - of course - I’ve met three girls from Germany who are also hiking 😀🇩🇪

It was a really nice hike with cool views, a hummingbird place, where we drank sugarcane tee with cheese. Yes cheese! 😅 and of course we saw the famous palm trees that are super tall.

  • Glimpse of Bogota

    October 15, 2021 in Colombia ⋅ 🌧 14 °C

I originally planned on flying to Mexico departing from Bogota. But I decided last minute to extend the time in Medellin because I really like the energy, the climate and the people of Medellin.

As I already had the flight to Bogota I stayed for five days and mainly was busy with work. However I went on a food tour to see a bit of Bogota while I’m here 😅

    ————-
This is just for me to remember what kind of fruits and food we tried during the tour. 😀

    Fruits:
    Lulo
    Gulupa (passion fruit)
    Maracuyá
    Granadilla
    Curuba
    Borojó (aphrodisiac)
    Pitaya (dragon fruit)
    Guayaba
    Freijoa (white guava)
    Guanábana

    Food:
    Tamal tolimense
    Chicha
    Patacón
    Coffee
    Plátano aborrajado

  • My base in Medellín

    October 30, 2021 in Colombia ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

Originally my plan was to fly to Mexico after Bogotá. However the time I spent in Medellín felt really good and I didn’t want to leave Medellín just yet, so I decided to extend my stay here until end of November.

It feels good to have a base for a while and establish a routine 😊 and also get to know people on a deeper level.

  • Goodbye Medellin

    November 20, 2021 in Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

I really enjoyed my time in Medellín. Having a routine and getting to know new friends.

Now I know why so many digital nomads go to Medellín and kept staying here more than planned. So did I. It’s just a magical place with amazing climate, vibe, food, people and culture.

    I’ll definitely come back 😀

  • On my way to Managua, Nicaragua

    November 21, 2021 in Nicaragua ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

After a crazy detour from Colombia with a layover at Mexico City Airport I finally arrived in Nicaragua. I stayed one night in a hotel in Managua, where I had the first awkward moment. Seeing Santa Clause and a christmas tree while the outside temperature is 34 degree 😀

So far my first impression of Nicaragua is really nice. Lots of volcanos and lakes 👌

  • Ometepe Impressions

    December 5, 2021 in Nicaragua ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

I stayed three weeks on this beautiful and magical island. The main reason I came here was to meet Amit again. He is an amazing soul and I enjoy having great and deep conversations with him. He also introduced me to the community of open minded people living on the island.

Apart from working in the morning I spent time relaxing in the permaculture farm drinking coconut water and harvesting my own fruits.

I also joined several recharging activities like breathwork, cacao ceremony and falafel lunch 🤩

This is for sure not the last time for me on this island 👌

  • Cenote Nic Te Ha, Tulum

    December 15, 2021 in Mexico ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

Next stop is cenote number three: Nic Te Ha. We were the only ones here and we could enjoy the crystal clear and cold water 😊. This one was really fascinating because if the water surface was completely still you couldn’t see the water anymore and looked straight to the plants, rocks and fish inside that cenote which looked almost surreal.Read more

  • Dos Ojos Cenote

    December 15, 2021 in Mexico ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

Cenote number four on todays list was the famous Dos Ojos Cenote. Which means "Two Eyes“. There are actually two cenotes which are connected via a water tunnel. We did the snorkel tour but you can also scuba dive. Sometimes we saw some and it really looked like out of this world seeing people diving deep down in the cenote cave.Read more
