Golan Heights

Went to the Golan Heights exactly the day where a heatwave started. Still made couple hikes, one to a river and the other one to a nature reserve with a waterfall, ending the expedition in a Winery to recover the breath and to cool down a bit with the company of a german girl I met in the hostel.

The Golan Heights are beatiful and nowdays it's a very peaceful place although this land was captured by Israel in 1967 from Siria after a war with multiple countries including Siria, the only trace of war are the several fences around that advice you not to walk there for the underground mines that could still be in the area.
The Golan Heights represents a strategic place for defense and security due to the high altitude in the site.

Fui a los Altos del Golán exactamente el día en que comenzó una ola de calor. Aún así realicé un par de Hikes, uno a un río y el otro a una reserva natural con una catarata, finalizando la expedición en una fabrica de Vinos para recuperar el aliento y refrescándome con la compañía de una chica alemana que conocí en el hostel.

Los Altos del Golán son hermosos y hoy en día es un lugar muy pacífico, aunque esta tierra fue capturada por Israel en 1967 después de una guerra con varios países, incluido Siria, el único rastro de guerra son las varias vallas alrededor que le aconsejan a uno que no camine allí debido a las minas subterráneas que aún podrían estar en la zona.
