However, the route to get to a beautiful Vietnamese island 🏝 is less than straightforward.

Yesterday was our first day relaxing on a beach. Currently located on the southern Vietnamese island of Pho Quoc, our local beach is called Long Beach. The whole of Asia is experiencing unseasonal weather at the moment, with blanket cloud coverage across Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Indonesia and Bali are nearly 2,000 miles from our current location and it has forecast rain 🌧 most days.
If you look closely at one of my pictures you can see a couple having wedding pictures taken, it was not me and Mandy. 😎

Phu Quoc to Koh Rong Sanloem

Yesterday we left Pho Quoc in Vietnam and via many modes of transport arrived in Koh Rong Sanloem in Cambodia.
Our ten-hour transport process was as follows; minibus, walked, fast ferry, minibus, walked across the Vietnamese and Cambodian border. Then two more minibuses and a speed boat ferry in very rough seas 🌊.

Yesterday we had an afternoon of snorkelling, fishing, and watching the sunset in M Pay Bay. Unfortunately, neither I nor Mandy caught any fish.
Our current hotel (Sara Resort) is located on Scarison Bay, and therefore, you have to travel around the island to see a beautiful sunset.
We also had an opportunity to witness plankton that glows as you swim in the sea.Les mer

Scarison Bay - Lazy Beach

We have two bays that are approximately 1.5km from Scarison Bay, accessed via paths inside the jungle. Sunset Beach is defiantly a much harder path and defiantly not to be attempted wearing flip-flops.
We opted for the second option, Lazy Beach, another beautiful sunset enjoyed with several cans of Cambodian beer.
Make sure that you have mosquito repellent for the return walk home, they will be waiting for you on the way back.Les mer

Spent a total of six relaxing days on Koh Rong Sanloem. Our island departure was via a very fast speed boat travelling at a land speed of approximately 52km per hour,
The second mode of transport was facilitated on a sleeping night bus from Sihanoukville to Siem Reap. Just under a twelve hour journey, I managed only six hours of sleep.Les mer
