🚐🇪🇺 EURO TRIP UPDATE FROM VANILLA

Well im now over 20% into the trip which sounds quite impressive when you say it like that 😆

Left Stafford at 2pm on the 6th May and dont get back till the 4th June so me and Vanilla are proper into it now.

    Done:
    🇫🇷 France
    🇨🇭 Switzerland
    🇮🇹 Italy

Been through some unbelievable places round Lauterbrunnen and St. Moritz and im now in Tuscany near Lucca.

    Not all glamour mind 😂

Had rain, bad sleep, confusing roads, tolls every 5 minutes and somehow bought 3 bottles of gluten free Peroni by mistake. Didn’t even know that was a thing.

Starting to feel less like a holiday now and more like just normal life but with better views and more pizza.

    Still loads left to do:
    🇮🇹 Florence
    🇮🇹 Pisa
    🇭🇷 Croatia
    🇭🇷 Dubrovnik
    🇧🇦 Bosnia

Vanilla is going brilliant though 🚐

Think ive already forgot what day it is half the time 😆

  • Lucca

    May 12 in Italy ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

Saw the famous Guinigi Tower in Lucca this morning 🇮🇹 — the medieval tower with actual trees growing out of the top of it like something from a fantasy film. 🌳 The plan was to climb it, but it didn’t open until 10am and Vanilla had miles to do, so I just admired it from below while pretending I wasn’t slightly disappointed. Still, wandering around Lucca early in the morning with quiet streets, little cafés opening up and church bells echoing around the city walls was pretty special.

Pisa was brilliant. 🇮🇹 The Leaning Tower is even more bonkers in real life, surrounded by stunning white marble buildings that look like they belong in a film set. The funniest part though is watching thousands of tourists all stood with one hand in the air pretending to hold the tower up while their partners shout “MOVE LEFT… LEFT… NO YOUR OTHER LEFT!” 📸😂 Absolute chaos. I joined in obviously. Tradition is tradition.

  • Siena

    May 12 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

Siena is absolutely stunning 🇮🇹 — proper old-school Italy with narrow streets, huge brick buildings, little cafés everywhere and a massive square called Piazza del Campo that feels like stepping back into the Middle Ages. Everywhere you look there’s another tiny alley, another church bell ringing, or another restaurant trying to tempt you in with pizza and pasta. The place is packed with tourists, but somehow still feels relaxed and classy at the same time. I spent half the time looking at the architecture and the other half wondering how Italians manage to make even buying a coffee look stylish. ☕🍕📸

    🍺 Siena Beer Economics 🇮🇹

Sat in the middle of beautiful Siena with a 1 litre beer that only cost a tiny bit more than a single pint back in The Wildwood in Stafford. AI has informed me this massive glass works out at about 1.76 pints 🍺📊

So for roughly an extra 55p per pint I got:
    ☀️ Italian sunshine
    🏛️ A medieval piazza
    😊 Friendly waiters
    🍕 Amazing atmosphere
    👀 Beautiful Italian scenery everywhere

Back home I’d probably just get somebody shouting at the football and a sticky table.

Sometimes life is about value for money. Today, Siena is winning. 🇮🇹🍺
