Cold Ashton

Beautiful and biting cold day! The rain held back, and despite a late start, we made good time. It's our 2nd to last day on the trail, and I'm feeling terribly proud of us and a bit sad that it's coming to an end! Tomorrow we walk to Bath!
Today, we walked with a couple of people we met on the way - Andrew (a local who walks portions every now and again) and Mike ( of Mike & Leslie from US). Mike became our navigator for the day, and we taught him our 'wait at the gate' philosophy.  Andrew and his family have a garden shop in Oxford and can hold a conversation on any topic!
We walked through the estate of the Dyson/Hoover magnate (Dodington Park) and onto Cold Ashton - mostly over muddy fields and crossing very busy roads! We stopped at Dyrham Park, where i paid an impressive £21 to enter and use the bathroom! ( Well, there was also a gift shop and a beautiful garden, and the money goes to the National Trust... so why not!) We made it to Toghill Farm, way up on Freezing Hill!
