Chess Sets Galore

Sean finally decided on a souvenir
So this happened

Just hanging out with their friends
Run in Budapest

Went for a run on the Buda side through a couple parks and sidewalks near Buda castle. - Sean
Errands with Willow

Just some interesting streets and buildings around town.
We went to a discount store for a few things and that was a trip. We got fortune cookies as a free gift.
Great Synagogue

The Dohany Synagogue is the largest in Europe and the second largest in the world.
It's more church-like than other synogogues, as the Hungarian Jews wanted to fit in. They even have an organ, whichЧитать далее
The Second Oldest Subway Line in Europe

It's just a few steps below the surface, and is very retro!
Also, the Budapest metro smells amazing. No, really. There are bakeries everywhere, which is brilliant.
Paprika Everywhere

Hungary is big on paprika. This is a potato chip flavor we NEED in the states.
Széchenyi Thermal Bath

Ok, I have a new favorite thing. The baths in Budapest are delightful. Thermal spring water feeds a huge variety of indoor and outdoor pools of varying temperatures. There are massaging jets all overЧитать далее
Palinka

Trying palinka, the national drink. Yes, it's strong! Mine is plum, Sean's is honey cinnamon apple.
Climbing St Mattias Church

This church on the Buda side has spectacular views across the Danube and zsolnay glazed tiles.
Inside St Mattias

This church has a very unique look to it inside - you can see the Moorish influence in the style.
Goulash and Silliness

Fisherman's Bastion

Created for the Millennium Celebration, this fairy tale castle may have inspired Disney. It was never used as a fortification and is now an extremely popular Instagram spot.
More Fisherman's Bastion

Buda Labryinth

Éowyn was terrified, but Willow has discovered a new calling as an improv spooky cave guide. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time - she kept this up for about 45 min.
The Grand Finale

Welcome, weary traveler...
Buda Castle

Great Market Hall

Where they still sell a lot of Soviet propaganda as souvenirs
St. Stephen's Basilica

The first sight in the church is St Stephen's mummified hand. It's weirdly tiny.
Palatinus Bath

There's an island in the middle of the Danube that's basically a huge park called Margaret Island.
The Palatinus Bath is like a water park with slides, currents, a wave pool, thermal pools, and anЧитать далее
Heroes Square and City Park

Porcelain Bouquets

Once again, good thing I have no room in my carryon. I looooove these!
Dinner and Dessert

Strawberry soup, anyone?
Also, some very interesting menu items...
Run at Margaret Island

Margaret Island in the middle of the Danube turned out to be a great place for a run. They have a track around the island just for runners.
You pass by a mini zoo, medieval monasteries, andЧитать далее
