Rome Day 1

After a "tough" 😇 flight arrived fresh faced in Rome. Train out to the Monti area where we are staying and short walk to our accomodation. No sign of our host and a hail storm welcomed us to Rome.
By the time Gabriella rocked up and let us into our apartment and gave us the low down it was time for lunch.
Off to a local restorante 'Brigantino' for pizza 🍕 .
After sustenance we visited Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore - 5th Century - one of Rome's for patriarchal basilicas. Originally designed by Michaelangelo although the ceiling is all that remains from his plans.
Walking the streets rain sent us into a wine bar for a couple of hours before we went to funky pasta bar 'Ce Stamo a Pensà' for dinner.Read more
