• Day trip to Ronda

    June 24, 2024 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

Amazing jammed packed day! Left Seville around 8am travelling to Ronda for the day.
Ronda is a mountaintop city in Spain’s Malaga province that lies above El Tajo - a deep gorge that separates the city’s circa-15th-century new town from its old town, dating to Moorish rule. Puente Nuevo is a hug stone bridge spanning the gorge. Views of it and from it are spectacular.
We also visited La Casa del Rey Moro: a water mine. The mine was built in the 14th century to improve the defenses of Ronda.
    Arab Baths
    Mondragon Palace
Bullring of the Royal Calvary of Ronda
We also had a look around another mosque turned church, Iglesia de Santa Maria la Mayor. It has Renaissance and Baroque features, a great viewing deck and can access the roof space for close up views of stained glass.
Had dinner almost directly under Puente Nuevo before driving back to Seville.
